About the Client…
Our client is one of the largest private equity firms in the Asia Pacific region, with offices in various key locations in the region. The Portfolio Management Team is seeking a motivated Sustainability Analyst/Associate to help drive ESG integration across the investment process and portfolio.
About the Role…
This role will support ESG engagement and reporting of carbon emissions and EDCI metrics across the whole value-chain involving new investments, portfolio companies, investor engagement, and firm-wide sustainability considerations.
The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio companies to implement sustainability initiatives, perform sustainability due diligence on new investments, and track the broader landscape of sustainability regulations to assess impact.
The ideal candidate will combine analytical rigor with stakeholder engagement skills to advance the firm's sustainability objectives. The successful candidate will report to the Head of ESG and Sustainability and will also be part of the wider Portfolio Management Group.
About the Responsibilities…
Portfolio Engagement & Reporting
- Support portfolio company engagement on sustainability initiatives and ESG matters
- Coordinate sustainability reporting processes across the firm’s portfolio companies
- Prepare portfolio-level sustainability performance reports and dashboards
- Monitor and track portfolio companies' progress on sustainability KPIs and targets
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across the portfolio
Carbon & EDCI Metrics Data Collection and Reporting
- Measure and track carbon emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3) across the portfolio
- Collect, validate, and analyze EDCI metrics
- Develop and maintain data collection systems and reporting frameworks
- Ensure data quality and consistency across portfolio company reporting
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement across sustainability metrics
LP Reporting & Communications
- Respond to Limited Partner ESG and sustainability questionnaires and data requests
- Prepare portfolio company updates for internal valuation reports
- Compile and analyze portfolio-level sustainability data for LP reporting
- Coordinate with finance and investor relations teams on ESG-related LP communications
Sustainability Report Preparation
- Support the preparation of the firm’s annual sustainability report
- Gather and synthesize content from across the firm and portfolio companies
- Develop compelling narratives and case studies highlighting sustainability achievements
- Coordinate with external consultants and internal stakeholders on report production
Investment Due Diligence
- Conduct sustainability due diligence on prospective investments
- Assess potential portfolio companies' ESG management systems, carbon footprints, and material sustainability risks
- Prepare sustainability sections of investment committee memos
- Collaborate with deal teams to integrate sustainability considerations into investment decisions
Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis
- Track evolving sustainability regulations and disclosure requirements globally and in key markets
- Analyze implications of new regulations and the broader private equity industry
- Brief internal stakeholders on regulatory developments and required actions
- Support development of compliance strategies and frameworks
Internal Sustainability Initiatives
- Promote sustainability best practices within the firm
- Support firmwide sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction efforts
- Contribute to the development and refinement of current ESG policies and frameworks
- Participate in Portfolio Management Group activities and initiatives
About the Requirements…
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, consulting, private equity, or financial services
- Strong understanding of carbon accounting methodologies (GHG Protocol) and ESG frameworks (TCFD, SASB, GRI)
- Demonstrated experience with sustainability metrics collection and reporting
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; experience with sustainability data platforms preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Comfortable engaging with senior executives and external stakeholders

Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee day to day laboratory incoming samples which includes logging the samples, filling the Chain of custody, checking sample details and test to be done, coordination with client and sections responsible for the analyses work
- Conduct water/wastewater/soil analysis based on SOP and standard methods
- Able to operate, maintain and calibrate the machines used for analysis like UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, pH meter. Turbidity Meter, Distillation, Photometer, etc
- Prepare worksheets, draft reports, maintenance records, inventory of chemicals, purchase order and documentations with reference to ISO 17025 requirements
- Liaise with clients on reporting deadlines, sampling schedules and other concerns
- Maintain up-to-date QA/QC procedures
- Ensure high safety standards in the lab, and adhering to policies in place
- May be required to collect samples at designated sites at local or overseas and on-site testing of such samples
- To ensure and uphold the integrity, accuracy and consistency of test procedures and standard reporting format within the Singapore Laboratory Accreditation Scheme, SINGLAS of ISO 17025 schedules
- To take corrective action against non-compliant laboratory activities in the laboratory, with reference to ISO 17025
Requirement :
- Minimum Diploma in related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates in view of business communications
