What the role is:

SENIOR / EXECUTIVE / PROJECT ENGINEER, CIVIL

What you will be working on:

You will play a lead role in managing the Contractors in the construction of new MRT Lines and / or enhancement to Existing Lines. You will be involved in the management of the contractors for Stations and Tunnel constructions in elevated or underground constructions. You will be responsible for the safety, quality, progress and environment impact of the Contractors’ works. You will also assist in planning and managing the risks and cashflows of the various contracts as well as the issuance of instructions and assessment of variations/payments/claims.

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge in Civil Engineering with familiarity with the relevant local codes and transit construction
  • At least 4 years’ experience in large-scale infrastructure projects
  • A good appreciation of the constraints and interface requirements of civil and trackwork.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills with proven track records
  • Good communication (both oral and written) as well as presentation skills
  • Team player who is analytical, resourceful and result-oriented
  • Experience in the construction of Civil Defence shelters and underground MRT stations will be an advantage

Your new role

As our new Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, designing complex structural projects, and shaping the future of our structural engineering services.

Reporting directly to our Technical Director, MMC Lead in our multidisciplinary Buildings Department, you will apply the principles of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) to promote the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), modular construction and prefabrication. You will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities, which require a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking.

You will be responsible for undertaking and overseeing work from the initial design concept through to detailed design, supervision, and quality assurance of structures. As a part of a global team, you can expect to be working on projects in Singapore as well as in the wider Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, in sectors such as commercial, hospitality and residential.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Prepare design of structures, including but not limited to the design of modular buildings, prefabrication and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA).
  • Carry out the structural analysis and design including Finite Element analysis, design and preparation of detailed design reports, calculations and drawings.
  • Coordinate with BIM modellers and technicians for the preparation of BIM models and drawings aligned with the client’s requirements and design intent.
  • Prepare project deliverables and submissions to authorities.
  • Design management and coordination with other design disciplines.
  • Carry out onsite supervision and quality assurance.
  • Act as a mentor for junior colleagues.
  • Participate in bids and tenders.
  • Perform other relevant tasks that may be assigned by the management.
