Job Description
We are all about impact. Impact on people, culture, brands and the world around us.
That's what gets us up every day. Working with governments and brands to make a real impact. To tell stories that matter. To design experiences that move people. To solve challenges that shape the future.
Whether it's uncovering a brand's deeper purpose, rethinking the way a message connects with its audience, or building ideas that spark conversations, when people work with Wherefore they get a team of Impact Makers. If the work does not create a meaningful impact, then it's not Wherefore.
What We Do
We may be a creative company, but we are not in the business of churning out content. We are in the business of making impact happen.
We obsess over the human experience. What people care about. What drives them and what brings them together. We turn those insights into creative solutions that go beyond execution, bridging strategy and craft to deliver results that last.
Our work spans:
- Communication Strategy
- Branding and Design
- Film and Photography
- Campaigns and Activations
Every project is different. The outcome is always the same: work that makes an impact.
Culture
Working at Wherefore means joining a team that believes in doing more than good work. We want work that matters. Work that challenges, connects, and inspires.
We push each other to think deeper, to execute smarter, and to always ask why. We value being intentional, resourceful, and collaborative. We respect life outside of work because the best ideas come when people are energised, not burnt out.
We are looking for motivated Impact Makers who want to create impact through their craft.
Your Role | Filmmaker
As a Filmmaker at Wherefore, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how stories are told and how impact is created through film. You are not just here to shoot and edit. You are here to lead, guide, and build the film arm of Wherefore.
Job Scope and Requirements- Take creative concepts and translate them into compelling films.
- Shoot and edit projects end-to-end (corporate videos, events, social-first content).
- Develop production workflows including storyboards, shot lists, schedules, crews, and budgets.
- Grow with us from being hands-on with shoots to leading productions and mentoring others.
- Collaborate with design and strategy teams to ensure storytelling is aligned with the bigger idea.
- Manage freelance crew and oversee post-production pipelines.
- Turn briefs into stories that resonate and inspire.
- Lead shoots and editing with excellence (DaVinci Resolve strongly preferred).
- Ensure films meet the highest standard of craft and impact.
- Be the bridge between Wherefore and partner production houses for larger projects.
- Contribute to shaping Wherefore's overall creative culture through your ideas and leadership.
Attributes We Value
We are looking for a Impact Maker who is:
- Creative with purpose | You care about making work that means something, not just work that looks good.
- Resourceful and proactive | You can solve problems and find solutions without waiting for instructions.
- Collaborative | You work well with others and know when to lead, when to support, and when to listen.
- Detail-driven | You care about the small things because they add up to the big picture.
- Adaptable | You can thrive in fast-moving environments and find clarity in ambiguity.
- Hungry to grow | You see challenges as opportunities to learn, stretch, and take on more responsibility.
Wherefore means "For What Reason". So what's your reason?
