What You’ll Be Doing

Position: Senior / Counsellor

Department: National Addictions Management Service

Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior / Counsellor in the National Addictions Management Service inpatient ward, you will review all clinical, medical, psychosocial and other relevant data in your assessment of clients. You will be conducting the rehabilitation programme and required to formulate a provisional discharge plan for patients. You will also coordinate with community partners, relevant resources and services that your patients require. You will work within a multi-disciplinary setting led by the allied health professionals and will be required to communicate and consult with doctors or nurses as well.

For both inpatients and outpatients, you will be required to conduct individual and group programmes, as well as work with their families. Your duties include reviewing counselling practices and setting high standards of quality care through individual or peer supervision. An essential component of your work entails assisting the department in evaluating and improving patient services which necessarily include the capturing of clinical outcome measures and any other data required by the department. You are also required to do case managing work to ensure patients are appropriately cared for throughout their treatment journey with IMH. Conducting training in addictions for both internal and external professional staff is an important part of your work, as is the delivery of educational talks to the public.

Requirements:

Educational and Professional Requirements

  1. Minimum of Bachelor degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Nursing or related discipline. Master's degree would be preferred.
  2. 2 years of relevant work experience.
  3. Experience in working at a rehabilitation environment will be an advantage.
  4. Recovery experience of minimum 3 years and above will be preferred; we are open to consider if you have 2 years of recovery experience with good track record or recommendation
  5. Certified Substance Addiction Counsellor (CSAC) with Association of Professional Addiction Counsellor (APSAC) will be considered with priority
  6. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  7. Minimum basic knowledge of PC applications (Microsoft Word & Excel) will be required

Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals aimed to empower marginalized communities with limited educational opportunities through outreach initiatives. Over the years, Care Corner has expanded into an organization offering diverse programmes and services across various social service centres island-wide, continuously innovating to meet community needs.

Position: Counsellor (CCU, COMIT) Responsibilities
  1. Programmes
    • Collaborate with the team on outreach and programme conceptualization, implementation, and monitoring.
    • Establish partnerships with community and social service organizations to support clients effectively.
    • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating mental health protocols and service delivery processes.
  2. Counselling and Casework
    • Manage case referrals and oversee cases.
    • Conduct assessments, planning, and interventions for cases.
    • Participate in case conferences and networking meetings.
    • Document and evaluate case outcomes.
    • Develop and review intervention strategies.
    • Ensure timely submission of case reports.
  3. Group Work
    • Contribute to the conceptualization, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of group work programs.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Counselling or related field.
  • Membership with SAC is preferred.
