RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide therapy and care support for clients in the senior care centre with instruction from Primary Therapist
- Perform vital signs assessment and, if necessary, pain score prior and/or post exercises or activities
- Assist therapist in guiding clients and their next-of-kin/ caregiver:
- Conduct physical and/or online exercise sessions in adherence to the care plans prescribed by Primary Therapist. This includes stretching, strength training, ROM exercises and application of physical modalities.
- Conduct maintenance activities which includes physical, recreational and other activities planned by the Therapist or Centre Manager.
- Work with care staff to surface issues at the Multi-Disciplinary team to meet the needs of the respective patients.
- Coordinate client's visit schedule using the weekly planner. To inform clients/caregivers on visitation schedule including changes in a timely manner.
- Perform transfers, and assist in mobility in a safe manner.Perform proper documentation of patients' care/progress notes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collect payment fee for home therapy by checking the subsidized status of patient
- Maintain Inventory for supplies and equipment.
- Simple equipment maintenance
- Roster for shift work such as for escort duty when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- GCE O or N level
- WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Therapy Support), Certificate in Therapy Services or equivalent
- Physical fitness to lift and manoeuvre patients during treatments and exercise for extended periods of time.
- Computer literate to do electronic entry into online record and basic usage of Microsoft Office.
- Experience in healthcare/community care setting would be an advantage.

(A) MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Clinical Competencies and Duties
In Occupational Therapy services, the Occupational Therapist has the general clinical competencies below (though not exclusive to this list) and had attained the specific area of competency for their specialty area. Depending on his/her rotation, the Occupational Therapist demonstrates specific competencies in the management of patients in one of these disciplines:
