What the role is
LED is seeking a dynamic individual to join us in our journey to pioneer the transformation of legal operations and prosecution work using technology. This is an especially exciting opportunity for legal professionals with a strong interest and/or experience in regulatory and prosecution work who are also passionate about leveraging technology to reshape legal practices. The incumbent will also be expected to conduct court prosecutions and enforce the penal provisions found in various legislation administered by MPA.
What you will be working on
- Work closely with a cross-functional AI development project team including data scientists and development engineers in an agile way, first to develop a database of infringement reports, evidence and the assessment of evidence which will be used to train the AI model, and later to develop and refine the product.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the AI system in assessing evidence and recommending a prosecutorial decision.
- Assessing infringement reports to determine the appropriate enforcement actions and make charging decisions.
- Conducting mentions and pre-trial conferences at the State Courts.
- Providing legal advice to enforcement divisions in relation to investigation and enforcement matters.
- Reviewing and crafting enforcement policies pertaining to MPA's regulatory regime.
What we are looking for
Possess a relevant discipline in law and be eligible to be called to the Singapore Bar. A strong interest in the use of technology and data science to transform legal practice. One or more years of experience advising on criminal law matters or in prosecution work.
