GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This role is part of the Supply Chain Department that is responsible for procurement and warehouse services across Meranti Power's operational domains. He/she will support the Head of Supply Chain in in ensuring that procurement activities are cost-effective, efficient, and compliant with the procurement policy, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Key areas of focus include:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
This role will undertake the following activities:
- Develop and execute strategic procurement plans aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives.
- Support procurement of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) Goods & Services and Indirect Goods & Services.
- Participate in procurement tender work, ensuring that all procurement obligations are fulfilled
- Oversee the quotation, tender, and request for proposal processes to secure competitive bids. Carry out sourcing for prospective vendors through open ITT and ITQ.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Consolidate and establish bidders list.
- Gather and synthesize market intelligence (including market sensing, price/cost analysis and industry trends), and apply Strategic Sourcing processes in term contracts.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure favourable pricing and quality standards.
- Evaluate supplier performance, monitor adherence to contractual obligations, and address any issues or concerns.
- Pre-qualify suitably experienced Vendors of MRO Goods & Services for inclusion in the MRO vendors' catalogue, similarly for Corporate Office Goods & Services and Corporate Office vendor's catalogue.
- Establish documentation and templates for procurement activities.
- Ensure all procurement documentation is complying to the policies and procedures.
- Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
- Perform any other tasks or participate in special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain or other relevant field of study.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in procurement management preferably from the Power, LNG or Petrochemicals industries.
The candidate should possess the following attributes:
- Sound knowledge of Purchase Order terms and conditions.
- Experience in procurement management software application Tenderboard and Maximo will be advantageous.
- Ability to work in a small team and have good interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Be proactive and able to liaise with internal stakeholders.
- Must be able to work towards business group objectives with minimal supervision in the day-to-day work environment and be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
- Self‐motivated, results focused and willing to work under tight schedules with multi‐disciplinary teams.
