Responsibilities
1) Vendor Relationship & Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships through regular meetings and vendor visits.

2) Market Research & Vendor Sourcing
- Identify new vendors through events, referrals, and industry research.

Summary:
The Director, VMO is a critical leadership role within the IT organization, responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Vendor Management Office for the NA & SAPMENA region. This includes developing, implementing, and overseeing vendor management strategies, processes, and governance to ensure efficient and effective vendor relationships that maximize value for L'Oréal. This role is designed to represent Zone IT to the L'Oréal’s External IT Vendor Eco-system covering an annual spend of EUR 60M.
Key Responsibilities:
● Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management strategy for the NA & SAPMENA region, aligning with L'Oréal's global vendor management framework and regional IT priorities. Define and enforce vendor management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and optimize vendor performance. Focus on aligning zone vendor strategy with global strategy, develop long vision partnership with IT vendors, currently, focusing on top 20 IT vendors for the NA & SAPMENA zone. Conduct market research and ecosystem scan to identify new partners and assess their capabilities and presence in the APAC region.
- Vendor Relationship Management : Oversee the entire vendor lifecycle, from onboarding and contract negotiation to performance management, risk assessment, and relationship development. Establish strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors, serving as a trusted advisor and escalation point for vendor-related issues. Conduct regular business reviews with strategic vendors to assess performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and foster innovation. Manage and improve vendor governance, compliance & relationship and conduct approx. 150+ planned governance forums/ year with new and existing vendors.
● Contract Management : Manage the IT contract portfolio, ensuring contracts are up-to-date, compliant, and aligned with L’Oréal’s business objectives. Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and terminations, working closely with Legal, Procurement, and IT stakeholders. Implement and maintain a centralized contract repository with robust tracking and reporting capabilities. Manage zone IT contract repository and support contractual process by reviewing more than 350+ IT contracts (MSAs, SOWs, Amendments) annually for risks and help mitigating the risks through contractual negotiations with the vendors.
● Performance Management: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to measure vendor performance and ensure accountability. Develop and implement a vendor performance management framework that includes regular performance reviews, scorecards, and continuous improvement plans.
● Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with vendors, including financial, operational, reputational, and cybersecurity risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation plans and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
● Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing VMO team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
● Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across IT, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and business units. Communicate effectively with stakeholders on vendor-related matters, providing regular updates and reporting.
● Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve vendor management processes, tools, and frameworks to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and value creation.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
● 15+ years of proven experience in vendor management, IT outsourcing, or a related field.
● 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing teams and driving strategic initiatives.
● Deep understanding of vendor management best practices, methodologies, and frameworks.
