Avantia Law is leading the way in legal services innovation. Our team of talented lawyers, backed by AI, work with clients to deliver routine legal and compliance work fast and cost-efficiently. We are looking for an experienced
qualified Lawyer
to join Avantia on a freelance/consultancy basis to spearhead the negotiation of investment-related NDAs, Engagement Letters, joinder agreements and non-reliance letters. You will manage every phase of the contract process—from initial review and negotiation, guided by client playbooks, through to document execution.
This role is fully remote and offers flexible practice. Due to turnaround times agreed with our clients, a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week is requested, spread across Monday to Friday. However, as this is a freelance arrangement, we cannot guarantee regular work.
Responsibilities
Lead negotiations of investment-related NDAs, Engagement Letters, joinder agreements, and non-reliance letters
Manage each contract phase from review and negotiation to execution, following client playbooks
Collaborate with global Avantia lawyers and paralegals in fast-paced, high-volume pre-M&A contract negotiations (primarily ELs and investment-related NDAs)
Engage directly with counterparties to achieve rapid turnaround times
Qualifications
Licensed to practice Law in any APAC jurisdiction or APAC-based expat with US/UK/European qualification
Must be based in an APAC time zone
5+ years of corporate/transactional law experience, in-house or private practice
Familiarity with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms is preferable but not essential
Experience independently negotiating investment-related NDAs and Engagement Letters
