Position Overview
The Small Pack Filling Line Leader / Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the small pack filling lines (1L–25L packs), ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role manages operators, coordinates with maintenance and quality teams, and ensures that production targets, safety standards, and customer requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Lead day-to-day operations of the small pack filling line, ensuring adherence to production schedules and targets.
- Oversee changeovers, set-ups, and start-ups to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor line performance and take corrective actions to resolve bottlenecks, stoppages, or equipment malfunctions.
People Leadership
- Supervise, train, and coach line operators to build skills, efficiency, and engagement.
- Assign daily tasks and manage shift rotations to ensure adequate manpower coverage.
- Foster a safety-first and quality-focused culture among team members.
Quality & Safety Assurance
- Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Enforce compliance with quality standards, including correct packaging, labeling, and filling accuracy.
- Conduct regular inspections and support quality control checks, ensuring prompt action on non-conformities.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Track KPIs such as line efficiency, downtime, output, and quality performance.
- Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with engineering/maintenance for preventive maintenance and quick resolution of equipment issues.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on line performance, safety incidents, and improvement actions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience in a production/filling/packaging environment, ideally in lubricants, chemicals, or FMCG.
- Prior experience leading a small team in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of filling line machinery, packaging equipment, and maintenance basics.
- Strong understanding of HSE, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Proficiency with ERP systems and production reporting tools is an advantage.
