What you'll be doing
To undertake and execute roles and responsibilities as a WSHO, ECO, ECMO, and any other roles under statutory requirements. New roles may be added subject to legal requirement changes.
Assist in reviewing the WSHE management system and periodically provide recommendations
Administer and implement the Company's WSHE management system and procedures
Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures to promote a strong safety culture
Develop Safety, health and environmental in-house training and promotional programs
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
Provide safety training and education to all site personnel to increase awareness and compliance
Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective and preventive measures
To ensure that work practices in his project is at all times in line with legal and 3rd party audit requirement, that is WSHE related, ISO, GGBS, ConSASS , BizSAFE and any new applicable legal requirements.
Follow up on the closure of findings raised by auditors, authorities, or interested parties with records.
Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards
Maintain detailed records and documentation related to safety performance
Collaborate with project managers and team members to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of project planning and execution
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience as a WSHO in the construction industry
Possess a valid WSHO certificate and relevant safety certifications
Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively at all levels
Proactive and detail-oriented approach to ensuring workplace safety

Ensure procedures are updated with the latest Codes of Practice and government legislation.
Review and implement a comprehensive EHS management system and provide recommendations to WSH Manager and management for improvement periodically to improve safety standards.
Conduct regular inspection to ensure that safety measures are in place at all times.
Provide monthly report to WSH Manager and management on EHS system operation and performance.
Ensure that work practices in projects are at all times in line with legal and 3rd party audit requirement, (WSH, ISO, GGBS, ConSASS, and Bizsafe).
Ensure the effective implementation of risk assessments, and follow-up actions to maintain high safety standards and compliance with company ISO, OHSAS policies, and legal requirements.
Conduct incident investigations and recommendations on corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Ensure HR and relevant personnel are notified within an hour of the incident and provide the preliminary report within the next 24 hrs.
Compile accident statistics and identify a trend if applicable and thereafter make known to all of the action to be taken.
Recommend a safety time out (STO) to the PM for approval to allow a breather for the site to conduct a refresher in-house training and thorough inspection to break the trend.
Ensure a system is implemented to check on personnel competency and fitness of tools, equipment and machineries prior to work commencement.
Exercise control in enforcing compliance with legal requirements and in-house rules.
Update the latest development on legal requirements and make known the impact to EHS committee members and necessary changes to made.
Participate in pre-project planning and advice on the measures to take in terms of traffic, security, visitors, public and neighbors' engagement and management.
Job Requirements
Registered WSHO with MOM and NEA.
Minimum 5 years of EHS/WSH experience in the building construction industry.
Comprehensive knowledge in EHS management (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS IS , GGBS, ConSASS).
Maintain a high level of accountability and presence to ensure that safety standards and KPIs are met.
Possess excellent communication skills to articulate and inspire a shared vision to achieve high safety standards.
