Job Description
1. Train order clerks in order-taking procedures and customer relations techniques, and advise workers of new or revised information on products or merchandise such as product capability, pricing, credit, warranties, and shipping.
2. Study and standardize procedures to improve the efficiency of subordinates.
3. Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
4. Prepare comprehensive reports from individual reports of subordinates.
5. Clean generator sets, engines, or other products prior to storage or delivery.
6. Wrap and pack generator sets, engines, and other products prior to storage or delivery.
7. Supervise the stuffing and unstuffing of goods from containers.
8. Check and bin stocks and items received.
9. Arrange and store goods in the warehouse as instructed by the supervisor to ensure space maximization and ease of movement within the storage area.
10. Use appropriate tools and material handling equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks for moving goods in the warehouse.
11. Perform daily routines to check and maintain material handling equipment, including topping up battery water and cleaning.
12. Ensure generator sets, engines, or other products are cleaned and covered to prevent dust and dirt.
13. Maintain good housekeeping of the premises by ensuring goods are orderly and properly stored, and that the warehouse is tidy and clean.
14. Follow local delivery instructions as and when required.
15. Observe and adhere to safety rules and regulations.
16. Assign drivers for pickup, collection, and delivery of goods.
17. Conduct weekly or routine briefings with logistics staff on safety and inform them of any operational or policy changes.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
19. Review and suggest improvements to work procedures and processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
20. Maintain and control ISO 9001:2015 documentation processes.
21. Prepare project status reports and follow through on implementation.
22. Assist in coordinating with the sales department regarding shipment and collection of goods.
23. Ensure the premises are safe and secure.
24. Take on any assignments given by the HOD or management as required.
25. Conduct random inspections to ensure goods are in their proper locations.
26. Report any suspicious persons or incidents to management immediately.
27. Be aware of department members who may be ill and refer them to a doctor promptly to reduce the risk of disease transmission (e.g., COVID-19, SARS).
28. Ensure warehouse personnel operating machinery are licensed if required.
29. Train warehouse and logistics personnel on relevant matters related to their work as needed.
30. Recommend off-site and external training for staff to improve skills and competencies when appropriate.
31. Promote harmony and maximum cooperation among all staff members at all times.
32. Conduct weekly morning briefings on jobs to be carried out by warehouse staff.
