About
The Maintenance Engineer (Utilities & Building Facilities) will be responsible for the reliability and compliance of utility systems in the pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. This includes maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of systems like HVAC, boilers, and water systems, while adhering to GMP, FDA, ISO, and safety regulations. The role also involves contributing to utility design reviews and project commissioning.
Responsibilities
Utility Systems Maintenance & Reliability:
- Perform maintenance (preventive, predictive, corrective) on utility systems (HVAC, water, air, chillers, waste treatment).
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules for system availability and compliance.
- Optimize energy and water usage to improve efficiency and sustainability.
- Manage contractors, maintain spare parts inventory, and coordinate procurement.
Facilities & Building Maintenance:
- Oversee maintenance of building amenities (cleanrooms, fire protection, security, infrastructure).
- Ensure HVAC systems meet required temperature, humidity, and air quality standards.
- Coordinate with contractors for facility maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, and EHS regulations, and maintain records for audits.
- Support audits with documentation, technical explanations, develop and update maintenance SOPs.
Continuous Improvement & Sustainability Initiatives:
- Implement projects to improve utility efficiency, reduce energy costs, and support sustainability initiatives (energy recovery, water recycling).
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new utility systems.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety, GMP, and environmental regulations, and conduct risk assessments with preventive measures.
- Provide training and mentorship to maintenance technicians.
Project Support and Commissioning:
- Participate in the review and commissioning of utility systems during project phases and provide technical support for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Support installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), and performance qualification (PQ).
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in utility and facility maintenance within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, chillers, purified water systems, and building automation systems.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements such as GMP, FDA, PIC/S, and local safety regulations.
- Experience in lean maintenance, TPM, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0 trends, and commissioning/validation of utility systems.
- Able to work in a controlled cleanroom environment, with the ability to lift and handle on-call or shift work.

**General Profile:**

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Manage day‑to‑day inbound and outbound logistics activities in partnership with outsourced logistics providers, with active, hands‑on involvement in daily warehouse and shopfloor operations such as receiving goods, manual material movement, box stacking, physical packing, and inventory counts.

+ Assists in ensuring that commercial and sales invoices are accurate in accordance with physical shipment and customer's SLI, quantities, value of goods, country of origin, and other regulatory requirements. Administers the efficient and economical movement of goods in compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws and processes.
+ Review and understand internal metrics/KPIs and how daily tasks impact these metrics.

The Skills And Knowledge You’ll Bring
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering with minimum 4-6 yrs of relevant experience in domestic appliances for in Supplier Quality, Product Quality or Process Engineering preferably with Electrical/Mechanical knowledge. Experience in Small Domestic appliances or related parts manufacturing is a plus.
- Good understanding of statistical methods, quality tools and methodologies (QFD, CtQ flow down, DfSS, SPC, APQP, FMEA, MSA, Control Plan and Lean) – GB or BB certification will be an advantage.
- Self motivated, action oriented, persistent towards accomplishing tasks and drives for success, Sense of urgency and owner’s mindset

Duties
- Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Lead and independently execute Feasibility, Conceptual, Basic, Front End Engineering Design and Detailed Engineering Design for oil & gas, utility, biofuel and energy-related projects.
- Preparation of various Process deliverables, including but not limited to Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process design basis and philosophies.
- Perform and review process simulations and calculations (heat and material balance, hydraulic, utility consumption) as well as equipment and instrument sizing for tanks, pumps, compressors, pressure safety valves (PSV), control valves and etc.
- Carry out surge (transient) analysis for pipeline and process systems, including assessment of pressure surges due to events such as valve closures, pump trips, and recommend suitable mitigation measures.
- Develop fire protection and firefighting design basis, including firewater demand calculations, firefighting equipment sizing and fire protection layouts.
- Develop utility system designs including steam, condensate, cooling water, chilled water, compressed air, nitrogen, flare, and water treatment systems.
- Support waste-to-energy (WTE), biomass, renewable energy and biofuel projects, including process evaluation, technology assessment, and integration studies.
- Prepare process specifications and datasheets for equipment including storage tanks, pumps, compressors, utility systems and etc.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, SIL, and other process safety and risk assessment studies.
- Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications, design requirements, and applicable international and local codes and standards.
- Review and comment on EPC Contractor deliverables, including process simulations, calculations, datasheets, PFDs, P&IDs, and safety studies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant international and local codes and standards (e.g. API, ASME, ISO, SS, NFPA, etc.) applicable to oil & gas, gas transmission, fuel storage terminal, WTE, renewable energy and biofuel systems.
- Support proposal preparation, including concept development, preliminary sizing, technical write-ups, manhour and cost estimation inputs.
- Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and performance testing activities when required.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including piping, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation (E&I), and civil & structural (C&S) disciplines to ensure integrated and safe design.
- Interface with clients, vendors, licensors, contractors and authorities to resolve technical issues and ensure project requirements are achieved.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently while meeting project schedules and deliverables.
Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Process or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university
- Required Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in process engineering design covering various phases of the project (Conceptual studies, FEED and Detailed Engineering).

**Job Responsibilities**
+ Responsible to run reports (e.g. manifests, load discrepancy, hold list, warehouse report) and distribute it to various internal stakeholders
+ Assist to do accurate data entry of paperwork and submit volume shipment reports into UPS systems for tracking
+ Proactively follow up on incoming emails, inbound package resolution and check on discrepancies
+ Resolve pending packages outside the office for address corrections or package exceptions resolutions.
**Job Requirements:**
+ Possess a Diploma (or equivalent) in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or relevant fields
+ Possess 1 - 2 years of logistics data management or logistics/aviation industry experience
+ Possess strong communication (at least English) and interpersonal skills
+ Display proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
+ Willing to work on shifts, especially night shift (11pm to 9am/10pm to 8am/9pm to 7am)
+ Willing to work overtime or on public holidays when needed

- Lead and execute design qualification activities to ensure the quality and reliability of new hardware products during development
- Manage reliability assessment programmes for products in mass production.
- Collaborate with globally distributed quality teams to ensure product quality and reliability standards are met

- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve quality processes for consistent and predictable outcomes

Qualifications

- Hands-on experience supporting Intel-based desktop, notebook, tablet, and computer peripheral products within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with environmental and reliability testing standards, methodologies, and tools.
- Experience implementing, maintaining, or managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) and related quality processes.
- Knowledge of system reliability, failure mechanisms, life data analysis, and quantitative accelerated life testing techniques.
- Excellent organisational, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge in Data analytics, Statistical & Reliability tools would be added advantage
- Some Experience working in Linux, Windows, or PC-based environments, with proficiency in office productivity and automation tools considered an advantage.
