Job Description
As part of Global Immunology and Immunotoxicology (I&I) department, provide support to, Safety Assessment (SA), and standalone studies over a wide range of Immunology and Immunotoxicology platforms, supporting enhanced solutions based approach to Clients requests.
The jobholder has specific scientific responsibilities which include participating in all procedures in the operational areas of I&I. These include sample analysis and data review in compliance with regulatory guidelines, supporting validation work, instrument metrology and general Laboratory support duties. The jobholder will assist the Scientist Specialists with projects within the department and assist in key aspects of internal training and development activities.
Responsibilities :
- Organizes and conducts routine and non-routine sample analysis in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Documents work and maintains study documentation and laboratory records.
- Sets up, operates and performs routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment.
- Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work.
- Critically review and perform QC checks and approval of data
- Assist with the monitoring of quality control trends and troubleshoot alongside the SME and implements any actions.
- Informs Study Director, Principal Investigator and/or management of any problems and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data and participates in corrective action of problems.
- Contributes towards a cohesive team environment.
- To assist in setting up and performing method development and validation of various Immunotoxicology assays.
- To be involved in the transfer of methods into I&I
- To perform complex analysis using unfamiliar or new methods, asking for scientific guidance as needed.
- Maintains awareness and compliance with all safety directives and safety procedures in accordance with the regulations
- Accepts responsibility in ensuring clean and safe laboratory work environment
- To have scientific or technical input into any modifications in test methods or procedures where required
- Seek scientific guidance as needed.
- To participate in the evaluation and qualification of any new equipment
- To be aware and understand the appropriate regulatory guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Trains and assists less experienced staff.
- Performs troubleshooting and guides others in troubleshooting processes, instrumentation and methods
- Participates in process improvement initiatives.
- Represents the department in client calls/visits and conferences where required.
- Plans individual workload in coordination with team members.
- To help foster a high professional standard and encourage good staff relationships
- Assists in writing methods or protocols.
- Considers financial implications of ongoing activities.
- Awareness of and duties encompassing all of the responsibilities of other steps in career progressions.
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in Flow Cytometry.
- Bachelor of Science degree, in a relevant Science discipline
- Experience may be substituted for education.
- Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation is desired.
- Previous experience of working to GLP.
- Basic knowledge of computers and software programs.
