Job Description
We are seeking an experienced principal scientist to help us build software development tools to support the emerging field of quantum computing. You will build up and lead a R&D team within the company focusing on quantum algorithms. You will work closely with our product, engineering and design teams to develop the enabling technology behind our products and to ensure the successful implementation of product features and specifications.
You should have a deep technical knowledge of quantum algorithms, an excellent grasp of quantum complexity and some exposure to implementations of these algorithms in code. We are also looking for a proven track record of leading research projects. You should also have good leadership skills and a passion for pushing at the boundaries of technology.
The successful candidate will join a fast-growing team that will influence the software architecture for Horizon Quantum Computing and will lay the foundation to support future products.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise teams to ensure that work is delivered according to schedule and company roadmap
- Work with other employees to design and implement Horizon's products
- Solve scientific and technical problems in support of Horizon's product development and implement these solutions in computer code for integration with Horizon's products and services
- Work on developing quantum algorithms in Horizon's products framework
- Mentor junior scientists on the team to enable their progress within the company and improve on technical skills
- Maintain proper documentation of your work and present results both internally and externally
- Write reports, research papers and technical documentation as may be required by the company
- Work with other employees and external partners to develop and protect novel intellectual property relating to quantum hardware and software innovations
- Keep up to date with the latest scientific and technical advances
Requirements
- A PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Computing, or a related engineering field, or an equivalent experience
- Has 8 years or more of post-doctoral work experience.
- Experience in managing teams of scientists
- Strong leadership ability to drive a team
- Expertise in quantum algorithms and quantum complexity
- Experience implementing quantum algorithms in code
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from inception to publication or commercial product release.
- Programming experience with C, C++ and Python and preferably also with Matlab
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Highly motivated with a passion for learning and driving technical progress
- Excellent collaboration, communication and documentation skills
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with working on commercial software development
- Experience collaborating with experimental teams

Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Leading central lithography team under pattern transfer group.
- Selection, procurement and qualification of litho tool sets based on program -- from contact aligner to immersion.
- Actively working with cross functional stake owners to plan and develop new lithography process.
- Validate design, reticle tap out and post tap out verification.
- Assist in internal and external technical discussion to overcome process related challenge and provide relevant solution.
- Perform process characterization, margin study to determine the process capability of new process platform.
- Act as a subject matter expert and resource for researchers and industry partners to enable process and/or product realization.
- Publish process development outcome and breakthrough in research community.
- Engage with relevant equipment makers/vendors and responsible for selecting and procuring research equipment.
- Work with fab team in establishing SPC for newly developed process.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; lead small projects with manageable risks.
- Accelerate parallel process development capability to meet aggressive project timelines and supporting faster innovation cycles.
- Build a sustainable talent pipeline across both research and engineering levels.
Job Requirements:
- PhD/ Master Degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and Microelectronics, or closely related fields are welcome to apply.
- More than 10 years relevant working experiences in R&D and/or industry environment with broad exposure in handling 6”, 8” and/or 12” substrate covering nano to micron tech nodes, preferably experiences in SiC/GaN/Photonics.
- Proficient in Photolithography tools including Immersion/KrF/I-line Scanner/Stepper/Mask Aligner, knowledge in EBEAM Lithography tool will be added advantage.
- Hands-on experiences in metrology including but not limited to CDSEM, Overlay, OCD, DRSEM, Microscope. Capable to create recipe to support various research requirement.
- Knowledge in design and simulation (Prolith, OPC, etc), reticle layout (oas, gds) review and basic tap out process.
- Equip with Lithography skills set including fundamental Lithography theory, Photoresist characteristic and application, new process setup (swing curve, FEM, DOE, statistical root cause analysis and problem-solving methods, etc), optimization and margin improvement.
