Ensure global compensation programs are compliant with local laws, tax regulations, and crypto-related legal considerations.
Collaborate with legal and finance to manage regulatory and tax implications of token-based comp.
Compensation Tools & Operations:
Own compensation data platforms and tools (e.g., Annual Compensation Tool; Offer Tool etc).
Partner with People Ops to implement compensation review results including communication letters and ensuring accurate payout
Education and Communication:
Educate leadership and employees on compensation philosophy, token vesting, and liquidity events.
Create transparent compensation documentation for internal and external audiences.
10+ years in compensation, total rewards, or people analytics; preferably in crypto, fintech, or tech startups.
Deep understanding of broad-based compensation
Experience designing global comp structures, including for decentralized remote-first teams.
Strong analytical skills, modeling proficiency (Excel, Google or Lark Sheets), and data visualization.
Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal.
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with Web3 culture and tools (e.g., governance, vesting contracts, tokenomics, DeFi, DAO structures) is a plus.
Certification (e.g., CCP – Certified Compensation Professional) is a plus.

As the Compensation & Benefits Advisor, you will also play a key role in providing a great user experience for our employees and leaders through ensuring our pay policies are clear, easy to access and apply and that they are easy and cost efficient to administer with the support of our HR Operations teams.
This role will report to Singapore Policy & Benefits Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Compensation & Benefits Advisor you will be tasked with the following:
- Provides deep subject matter expertise relating to compensation and local pensions, and staying current on legislative requirements, best practices and application across all businesses.
- Act as a proactive, strategic partner to the broader HR Community and business to solve business challenges within compensation remit. This is done in consultation with HR Operations, Global Rewards team and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the roll out of global pay policies, archetypes and continuous improvement initiatives including providing local insights and requirements, developing change and engage plans and supporting leader/HR engagements.
- Accountable for supporting the annual pay review in Singapore and undertake pay benchmarking exercises.
- Support the development and recommendations of annual pay program.
- Review, and if needed, recommend system changes to ensure accuracy of payments.
- Support ongoing country pay education activities.
- Provide subject matter expertise to ER/IR on local compensation topic for renewal or negotiations of collective agreement, to enable competitive and affordable positioning.
- Responsible for the coordination and communication of the compensation/local pensions process including providing recommendations regarding changes and ensuring timely implementation.
- Maintain awareness of trends, competitive practice and legal landscape as they relate to compensation and local pension.
- Engage with a variety of stakeholders, within and outside Shell.
- Leads/supports assigned projects/activities within the team.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager/Senior Manager to lead the Compensation and Benefits portfolio for our Corporate Office in Singapore. In this role, you will be the primary leader responsible for overseeing all C&B functions within the Singapore office, while also contributing to regional projects in collaboration with the wider HR team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Compensation and Benefits, with expertise in salary benchmarking, salary reviews, bonus exercises, and a proven track record of partnering with stakeholders to design and execute effective C&B programs.
Job Description
Compensation and Benefits Management:
- Lead and prepare annual manpower budget exercise
- Review and refine the Compensation & Benefits philosophy and lead innovative C&B projects
- Provide in-depth technical expertise in all areas of salary benchmarking and job grading
- Lead and drive the annual processes: talent review, salary review, bonus exercise, share plans
- Conduct regular analysis and benchmarking of compensation and benefits against the market to ensure competitiveness.
- Analyze market trends, benchmark data, and employee feedback to continuously improve benefits offerings
- Provide guidance and support to managers on compensation-related matters, including salary structures, incentives, and benefits packages.
- Oversee/manage the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, provident fund, wellness initiatives, etc.
- Involved in the HRIS implementation from the C&B point of point of view
Data Management and Reporting:
- Generate and analyse HR metrics and reports for decision-making and improve HR processes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and analytics to track key performance indicators related to compensation, benefits, and HRIS usage.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of Compensation & Benefits in house experience
- Regional exposure would be a plus
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skill
- In-depth understanding of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and regulations.
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, and presentation of HR metrics.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in supporting HRIS implementation or process improvement would be a plus
- Experience in the hospitality industry would be an advantage
- Ability to work independently, be resourceful, take initiative and be hands on
- Detail oriented and meticulous
- Strong analytical skills and technologically savvy
- Open-minded towards change processes, and customer-oriented
- Good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills in a cross cultural environment
