3. To perform daily health check on the virtualization platforms.
4. To perform firmware/OS patching on hypervisors/virtualization tools, including EOS/EOL upgrade.
5. To participate in shift work to cover critical hours onsite and 24x7 offsite.
6. To support VM migration between virtualization platforms.
7. To work with vendor on virtualization/hypervisor problem encountered and apply the resolution steps to prevent future occurrences.
8. To automate build (e.g. VM provisioning) and operational tasks (e.g. daily health check tasks) whenever feasible.
9. To participate in PDC/SDC migration.
Competencies
1. Strong knowledge on Oracle/RedHat KVM server virtualization (ovirt), VMware virtualization, and/or AIX PowerVM virtualization.
2. Good knowledge of Data Center and end to end IT infrastructure from Data Center facilitating, network infrastructure, storage, SAN, server hardware to operating system, extending to middleware, database and good analytical knowledge of generic application behaviour.
3. Candidate with operational experience, preferably in support of critical application systems will have an advantage.
4. Ability to work in team and to pick up transforming technology in the arena of server virtualization.
