The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for implementing and managing cloud security solutions to safeguard the company’s data and infrastructure. This role involves implementing security controls, responding to security threats, and assisting in the deployment of cloud-based security solutions. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Security Operations & Incident Response:
•
Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
•
Support security monitoring and threat intelligence efforts.
•
Assist in security investigations, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.
Cloud Security Implementation & Compliance:
•
Assist in deploying and maintaining security controls for cloud/hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
•
Ensure security compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CCM).
•
Support the development of cloud security policies and best practices.
Security Technology Deployment & Integration:
•
Assist in the deployment and integration of security tools such as Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.
•
Work with DevOps and IT teams to implement security configurations in cloud environments.
•
Participate in security automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives.
Process Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration:
•
Collaborate with internal teams to identify security gaps and propose solutions.
•
Assist in documenting security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
•
Keep up-to-date with emerging cloud security threats and trends.
Other Responsibilities:
•
Work with vendors and support teams to resolve security issues.
•
Participate in training and upskilling programs as needed.
•
3+ years of experience in Information Security, Cloud Security, or Security Engineering.
•
1+ years of hands-on experience with AWS or Azure security features and cloud security best practices.
•
Familiarity with public and hybrid cloud security risks and mitigation strategies.
•
Experience with security technologies and processes, including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint security, and log management.
•
Hands-on experience with SIEM/Analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or Securonix) – including policy configuration and fine-tuning.
•
Knowledge of security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
•
Understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, and OWASP Top 10 security risks.
•
Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and proxy security solutions is a plus.
•
Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Security Specialty, CEH) are preferred but not required.
•
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess security threats and recommend solutions.

Job Description:
In this role, you will join a team of six members from Sopra Steria supporting a government project. The scope includes:
- Security Risk Assessment
- Review of Security Policies, Standards, Guidelines, and Procedures
- Security Design
- Application Security
- Vulnerability Assessment
- System Security Acceptance Testing
You will be an expert in Cloud Security.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert on cloud and cybersecurity risks.
- Provide expertise in cloud security, serving as a trusted technical advisor to address security and compliance challenges.
- Support cloud transformation initiatives by helping to develop secure and compliant cloud solutions, leveraging standards and frameworks such as CSA CSM, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, and regulatory guidelines.
- Advise on designing effective cloud security capabilities across areas like identity and access management, incident response, cryptographic key management, backup and recovery, and third-party risk management.
- Perform risk assessments for cloud environments and services.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into cloud applications and services.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Cloud Security, with AWS experience highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work effectively with international teams in a professional manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty (SCS-C01), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or CISSP are a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Consult with stakeholders on security requirements and utilize best practices to meet them
- Collaborate with the Cloud Infrastructure and Platform teams to lead initiatives and build security utilities that will enable Univers to operate more securely
- Build threat detection for a hybrid infrastructure covering the overall technology stack that includes Application infrastructure, Containers, IoT infrastructure
- Contribute to and lead communications with the team and other business units
- Build and maintain a robust infrastructure/platform security roadmap to meet customer demands and regulatory mandates
- Responding promptly and in detail to customer-sponsored penetration tests
- Develop, maintain, and promote standards through workshops, knowledge shares and brown bags
- Promotes security and cloud best practices
- Onboard and development of Security information and event management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation and Response system (SOAR).
Qualifications & Experience:
- AZ-500 & AWS security certification will be a plus
- At least 5+ years of experience in security controls management aspects at Azure/AWS/Google cloud
- Strong knowledge of network security including Firewall and WAF
- Strong knowledge of Identity management and identity federation (SAML, Oauth)
- Strong knowledge of virtual infrastructure and containerization technologies
- Experience designing and implementing security controls in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and alike.
- Experience with the application of risk identification and evaluation techniques
- Experience with broad set of information security technologies and processes within a SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, or cloud environment
- Experience with at least one SIEM and SOAR platform – including on boarding of log sources and developing automation.
- Scripting (mostly in Python) and/or automation skills will be a plus
