About The Job
The Manager, Data Management, is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and consistency of metadata across the university’s data warehouse and other operational systems. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to establish and implement metadata standards, support data governance initiatives and provide training to end-users. Additionally, the Manager will assist in managing data protection and ensuring compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). The Manager will also serve as a primary point of contact for external data inquiries and requests as well as coordinating with government agencies.

- Metadata Management: Maintain and update metadata across all data systems to ensure consistency, integrity, and quality.
- Standard Implementation: Work with departments to define and enforce metadata standards and best practices.
- Data Governance Support: Contribute to data governance initiatives, supporting the development and enforcement of policies and procedures.
- Data Protection and PDPA Compliance: Assist in managing data protection practices to comply with PDPA regulations, ensuring sensitive data is handled securely and responsibly.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary contact for external data requests and inquiries, managing relationships with regulatory entities.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to end-users on data management practices, promoting adherence to governance standards.
- Data Quality Assurance: Oversee data quality monitoring processes, identifying and resolving data integrity issues across the university's data systems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data management, metadata management, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata standards, and quality assurance principles.
- Proficiency in data governance tools, metadata management solutions, and data quality software.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

- Maintain accurate alumni engagement data (including by not limited event participation, CET, volunteerism) by working with other departments.
- Fulfil ad hoc data requests within specified deadlines, and update alumni LinkedIn profiles and notable alumni lists,

Operations & Coordination

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Technology, Data Analytics or other related fields.
- Advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft applications e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge and skills in data visualizations
- Familiarity with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), data privacy and governance policies.
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in data and database management, or customer or membership-type platforms/app or IT related-projects
- Experience in managing others e.g. junior staff will be advantageous.
