Job Description:

• Creates instructions for machinist

• Convert 2D blueprint into 3D using UG or MasterCAM software

• Make calculation for programming including where materials should be cut

• Checks completed programs by running simulations or test

• Determines sequence of operations in a program

• Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increases efficiency

• Choose appropriate tool that will be needed

• Liaise with tooling department on new cutting tools that need to be purchase

• To design jogs and fixtures for complex machining process

• Troubleshoot and communicates with machinist who will use the programs

• Monitors all programs to make sure they follow the blueprints instructions and safety and successfully complete the task and comply with all safety regulations

Requirements :

· Minimum Polytechnic Diploma in Engineering/ NTC-2 in Machining Trade.

· Experience as CNC programmer/ machinist in manufacturing environment.

· Proficient in MS Office (MS words, Excel, Power Point).

· Familiar with CNC programming and CNC machining.

· Familiar with CAD software (e.g. UG, AutoCAD)

Job Descriptions:-

1) Prepare program with the understanding of drawing detail, customer specifications and requirements.

2) Create set-up sheet with tool list and cutting parameter to assist production department to achieve its production quotas with quality and safety guidelines.

3) Conduct monthly update of program once the program is tested, generate setup sheet for each parts as required.

4) Ensure all program, set-up and tooling list is generate as per company QSM and engineering department procedures.

5) Responsible to review and approve of all program sheets.

6) As and when required, design fixture and request for new tools.

7) As and when required, other appointed duties.

Requirements:-

4) Minimum 5 years experiences in CNC Milling manufacturing with 3 years experiences in 4 to 5 axis programming

Develop and write CNC programs for milling, turning, or grinding machines using G-code and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360).

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.

Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to optimize production efficiency and tool life.

Simulate programs to verify accuracy and eliminate potential errors before actual machining.

Collaborate with machinists, production engineers, and quality control teams to ensure program effectiveness and part conformity.

Modify programs based on machine capability, setup constraints, or feedback from the shop floor.

Maintain organized documentation of CNC programs, tool lists, and process sheets.

Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues to minimize downtime.

Assist in new product development and prototype machining activities.

Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain compliance with ISO/AS standards where applicable.

Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or related field.

Certification in CNC Programming or CAD/CAM is an added advantage.

Proficiency in G-code programming and CNC control systems (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, etc.)

Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, EdgeCAM, etc.)

Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tool selection.

Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and tolerances.

Knowledge of CNC machine setup and operation is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
