Location: Tuas (Transport pick up to/from Lakeside MRT)
Role Summary
The CNC Lead plays a pivotal role in supporting production activities, ensuring that all manufacturing orders comply with CNC machining work instructions. This position oversees a team of CNC machinists, driving output and quality standards while assisting the Production Supervisor in achieving productivity targets and cycle time goals. The role also fosters a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and oversee all CNC machines to ensure quality and output targets are met
- Provide minor troubleshooting support in collaboration with Production and Engineering teams
- Lead CNC machinists to meet scheduled cycle times and production goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes and equipment
- Coordinate with material handlers to prepare billets per production schedule
- Assign daily machining tasks based on job schedules
- Promote 5S practices and safe working procedures within the CNC cell
- Guide and mentor CNC machinists to enhance job competency
- Ensure strict adherence to CNC work instructions and safety protocols
- Support urgent production needs through shift flexibility, including weekends
- Maintain visual production tracking via heartbeat boards
- Collaborate with Engineering on FA machining and CNC program validation
- Participate in ad hoc company activities as required
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Precision, CNC Programming, CAD/CAM)
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar production role
- Proficient in CNC Turning and Milling operations
- Knowledge of CNC machining, including rubber press moulding and metal/plastic operations
- Skilled in programming (Fanuc required; Mastercam is a plus)
- Experience in automation and robotic integration within machining processes
- Familiarity with production flow control and machining methods for metals and engineering plastics
- Team-oriented with a resilient and adaptable mindset
