Cubic Defense

This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer/Systems Engineer of Cubic Singapore. It involves collaborating with Cubic’s Singapore-based and international engineering teams to define maintenance solutions. Responsibilities include developing technical details for proposed maintenance solutions, supporting engineering efforts in design, modification, testing, and evaluation of complex systems with hardware, mechanical, optical, and software components.

This role also leads on-site installation, integration, and acceptance activities at customer locations, including remote sites in Singapore and other countries. Post-delivery, the role involves system sustainment and logistics support, and may include external technical engagements with global customers to determine training and system requirements.

The position generally operates under supervision and involves decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and analyze engineering designs, specifications, and test plans based on customer requirements.
• Establish maintenance process flows for repairs, replacements, and new projects.
• Monitor and improve maintenance data accuracy.
• Perform maintenance requirement analysis and review system and subsystem designs.
• Assist in developing project concepts, objectives, and resource needs.
• Develop system architectures that communicate requirements and interfaces to customers.
• Participate in project coordination, reviews, and meetings, and present to management and customers.
• Conduct internal design reviews and technical meetings.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for maintenance and interface integration.
• Lead installation, integration, commissioning, and acceptance testing.

• Respond to emergencies, Andon signals, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating issues to minimize disruptions in manufacturing processes.
• Define and implement preventive maintenance programs, practices, and techniques to ensure all site facilities and production machines are in proper working condition.
• Adhere to EH&S regulations, including cardinal rules, risk assessments, proper use of PPE, and machine safety.
• Work with OEMs, machine agents, contractors, and suppliers on site facility and production machine repairs, calibration, and preventive maintenance (PM).
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of site facility and production machines, instruments, and equipment.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to the Maintenance and Facility Supervisor/Manager on operational and maintenance requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in a timely manner.
• Support the implementation and execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs.

Education Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in machine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Industrial machinery, including CNC machines (such as lathe, milling, grinding), automation systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Familiarity with Siemens, Fanuc, and Okuma control systems is preferred.
• Experience with special process equipment like furnaces and plating equipment.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities, while driving our transition toward predictive and smart maintenance using sensor data and machine learning. This role is critical to maintaining high equipment availability across our Metal Injection Molding (MIM) operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on key equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimize production downtime.
• Implement condition-based monitoring using sensors (vibration, temperature, pressure, etc.).
• Support data collection and feature extraction for predictive maintenance models.
• Assist in deploying machine learning algorithms in collaboration with the data analytics team.
• Work closely with IT/Digital/Automation teams to integrate sensor and equipment data into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and real-time dashboards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records and prepare for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.

Required Skills

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities; able to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control logic diagrams.
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance techniques and basic machine learning concepts is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Bonus: Experience with CMMS, Python scripting, or Industrial IoT (IIoT) integration.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with Clients to understand their requirements and propose maintenance and service accordingly.

• Prepare, follow up and negotiate with Clients on the proposal / quotation submitted.

• Schedule and coordinate with Clients on regular maintenance or ad-hoc repair works.

• Lead & manage a team of Technicians to carry out the service, overhaul, or refurbishment work for water /waste water treatment plants.

Maintenance Engineer

A Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing Mazak products, also must diagnose technical issues, provide on-site or remote support, and offer technical expertise to customers.
