This is a customer-oriented role, involving end-to-end coordination with third-party service providers to ensure seamless service execution, while also serving as a Tier 2 technical support resource for escalated or complex cases. It requires close collaboration with both internal teams and external partners to uphold service quality. A key responsibility includes managing preventive maintenance (PM) planning across Singapore and Brunei, ensuring timely execution and minimal disruption to operations. Additionally, the role demands strict maintenance of data hygiene within the Global Service Management System (GSMS), accurate administration of service contracts, and full oversight of service tools—including inventory availability, and ensuring all tools are calibrated on schedule. This position plays a critical part in sustaining operational integrity and supporting compliance in the service delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner Boston Scientific appointed service providers for technical support of all capital equipment, inclusive of equipment distributed through appointed channel partners.
  • Provide level two service support related to maintenance, field action, recalibration, upgrade, and repair for the local installed base.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction with BSC equipment performance and services.
  • Reporting all service activities in approved Service Management Systems and meeting key performance indicators.
  • Responsible for monitoring, organizing, and maintaining personal trunk stock, tools & test measurement equipment, and spare parts.
  • Administer service contract opportunities and collaborate with the sales team to drive local contract adoption.
  • Responsible for local capital equipment-related program management (ie. preventive maintenance scheduling).

Requirements

  • Diploma/ Degree in biomedical, electronic, electrical, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of working experience in medical electrical equipment field service and service contract sales.
  • Experience with broader equipment (example: Ultrasound, Laser) &. networking is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of safe working practices on live equipment on high voltages
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English. The ability to speak any other Asian is an advantage.
  • Basic computer knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good communication skills, customer-oriented, independent, and self-motivated.
  • Willing to do domestic travel extensively.

The Field Service Engineer - Grid Integration leads all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases.

Responsibilities
  • You will plan project on-site activities with the Project Manager, including necessary local resources, equipment and milestones. You will coordinate agreement between the customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy, site coordination and monitoring, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer or Project Manager to handing over to the end customer on completion day, ensuring the successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.

  • You will serve as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and other local organizations such as authorities, banks and suppliers to secure active support of field activities.

  • You will ensure a detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (HSE) plan is in place for each work package, compliant with the Hitachi Energy HSE plan, ensure all on-site resources are properly trained on the company health, safety and environment policy, and promote health and safety considerations to project partners. You are empowered to suspend any activities on site in case of HSE violations and to take necessary steps to protect employees and others on site.

  • You will ensure correct handling, storage and installation of Hitachi Energy-delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material.

  • You will manage the on-site sub-contractors hired by Hitachi Energy to ensure quality and progress meet delivery dates and agreed standards.

  • You will control project cost for the site work, monitor actual spend against forecast and estimate final costs, manage petty cash, and have delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limits.

  • You will ensure documentation is updated as necessary, maintain the document handling system, and use the latest revisions for construction work on site.

  • You will ensure, with HR support, that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed; guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect reports within HR policies; coordinate local accommodation, site facilities, office equipment, and petty cash.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your background
  • You hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years in service experience in the power sectors with focus on 66 kV and above transmission networks; 5 to 8 years in service experience in the power sectors.

  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing of insert-specific products and industry/sector.

  • Good understanding of transmission regulations and current H&S legislation.

  • Leadership skills to lead a project site team and customer interaction.

  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.

  • Proficiency in English communication.

Role

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for Compliance & Safety, Installation/Commissioning, Maintenance/Repairs, Technical Support and Reporting.

This position reports to the Area Service Manager, Singapore and is part of the ASEAN Equipment Services Team and will be an on-site role.

What you will do
  • Responsible for on-site installation, qualification, commissioning, repair and planned maintenance for Cytiva’s equipment.
  • Providing quality services as per company’s service guidelines and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set forth in your team, and adhere to company health and safety guidelines.
  • Working closely with service sales in preparing proposals/recommendations to customers.
  • Timely and proper input of services performed in the company’s database (CRM).
  • Collaboration and working closely with cross-functional teams (commercial, logistics, product and leadership) to enhance customer experience.
Who you are
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience preferably in the Life Sciences or Biotech industry with a strong background in engineering. Automation experience/knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and with good problem-solving skills when faced with complex issues.
  • Strong work ethics and able to maintain good rapport with customers and internal team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Other ASEAN language is a plus.

The Advanced Equipment Systems Division (AES) is a focused group within the larger Air Liquide Electronics (ALE) organization that specializes in providing chemical and specialty gas management equipment solutions. Team members are chemical and mechanical engineers, electrical and controls engineers, programmers, manufacturing technicians and field service engineers. The core expertise of this team includes everything related to the delivery of process molecules: equipment design, material compatibility, safety requirements, component selection, controls design and integration, flow and pressure optimization, installation and start-up, and turnkey project management.* Support the technical processes, with considerable work experience in specialty gas, chemical, and slurry products.* Perform hooking up, commissioning, testing, retrofitting, and troubleshooting equipment. This also involves the ability to install and debug software and controls.* Responsible for identifying technical problems and implementing solutions. This includes collecting data and performing analyses to diagnose maintenance issues. More complex problems should be referred to appropriate personnel.* Work directly with both internal and external customers to identify and resolve issues. This requires strong judgment, technical capabilities, and sensitivity to customer concerns to ensure minimal loss of time and money.* Responsible for analyzing repair methods and creating secondary plans to minimize any interruption to customer processes. You will also act as the "Voice of the Customer," communicating their needs to internal teams.* Understanding of and the ability to operate and install auxiliary equipment. Chemical/Slurry Systems: particle counters, flow meters, sampling systems, analytical equipment (assay, etc.), and system options as appropriate. Gas Systems: gas analyzers, flow meters, flow control valves, regulators, LSS.* Assisting in training customer personnel and acting as an informal resource for less experienced colleagues, sharing your knowledge and expertise.* Work with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight primarily for new, complex assignments. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform remote diagnosis to fix the trouble remotely if it is possible.
  • Perform on-site support to fix troubles when the remote troubleshooting does not work well.
  • Handle spare parts properly to supply them to customers for the troubleshooting.
  • Consult to VAT HQ and Factory to obtain supports when it is necessary.
  • Provide timely updates to manager on status of field issues, whereabouts and availability to support onsite work.
  • Escalate the trouble to the management in timely manner when necessary.
  • Perform follow-up and administrative activities (daily service report, trouble analysis report, 8D report, etc.) during / after the repair is completed.
  • Prepare RGA for field return and create Failure Analysis Report (FAR).
  • Support and assist manager on all technical matters.
  • Offer innovative solutions to fix troubles happening at the customer site.
  • Regular local travel required; regional and international travels less than 30%.
  • Support part shipment, documentation and packing work for field/warranty cases when needed.
  • Assist warranty evaluation and repair tasks in service centre when time permits.
  • Any other work-related tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Technical competence for mechanical/electrical/software.
  • Repair experience of mechanical assemblies, valves or semiconductor process equipment is advantageous.
  • Basic vacuum knowledge and industry knowledge of SEMI/FPD/PV.
  • Customer support/field service experience is desired.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skill in English and preferably Mandarin.
  • Advanced skill in presentation and in dealing with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Semiconductor or Flat Panel Display (FPD) industry.
  • Competent in full Microsoft Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ERP systems such as MS Dynamics or SAP is an advantage.
  • Possess good inter-personal skills, discipline and work attitude.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to the customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to work independently in a high customer demanding environment.

The Opportunity

The Field Service Engineer - Grid Integration lead all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases.

How You’ll Make An Impact

You’ll plan project on-site activities with the Project Manager including necessary local resources, equipment and milestones; coordinate agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy; oversee site coordination and monitoring; manage from receiving the assigned site area from the customer or Project Manager to handing over to the end customer on completion day; coordinate all on-site activities to ensure successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.

You’ll serve as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities, banks and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities.

You’ll ensure a detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (HSE) plan is in place for each work package, compliant with the Hitachi Energy HSE plan; ensure all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy; proactively promote health and safety considerations to project partners; be empowered to suspend any activities on site in case of OHS violation and take necessary steps to protect Hitachi Energy employees and others from risk.

You’ll ensure correct handling, storage and installation of Hitachi Energy-delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material.

You’ll manage on-site sub-contractors hired by Hitachi Energy to ensure necessary quality and progress to meet delivery date and standards.

You’ll control project costs for the project site work, monitor actual spend against forecast, estimate final cost, manage petty cash and have delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limits.

You’ll ensure documentation is updated, the document handling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for construction work on site.

You’ll ensure, with HR support, that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed; guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect reports within HR policies; coordinate local accommodation, site facilities, office equipment, petty cash, etc.

You’ll ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines; live Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.

Your Background
  • Diploma/bachelor training in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years in service experience in power sectors with focus on 66 kV and above transmission networks
  • 5 to 8 years in service experience in power sectors
  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing products and industry/sector specifics
  • Good understanding of transmission regulations and current H&S legislation
  • Leadership skills to lead a Project Site team and customer interaction
  • Proven leadership, collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in English communication
