Job Summary

We’re looking for a Data Management (Banking Industry) to support our team in Singapore but this role Hybrid. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with talented colleagues, and contribute to the success of a growing company. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather and analyze data requirements related to banking products, transactions, customers, and reporting.
  • Design and maintain logical and physical data models for core banking, risk management, compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Translate complex business use cases into normalized and de-normalized data structures optimized for both operational and analytical workloads.
  • Implement and evolve data marts, data warehouses, and data integration layers aligned with the client’s data architecture.
  • Work with development teams to deploy physical data models and optimize performance for large financial datasets.
  • Ensure all data models comply with data governance, quality, and metadata management standards.
  • Produce data documentation, including data dictionaries and lineage diagrams, for business, audit, and regulatory use.
  • Support initiatives related to data lineage, metadata management, and data quality to enhance data trust and transparency.
  • Provide business support with the ability to identify and highlight IT issues when necessary.
  • Create and maintain reports and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Min. 7–10 years of experience in data architecture, data modelling, or data management in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Deep expertise in logical and physical data modelling, particularly for core banking, risk, compliance, and analytics use cases.
  • Strong skills in data modelling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, or similar.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience handling large, complex financial datasets.
  • Solid understanding of relational and dimensional modelling, data warehousing, and integration techniques.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks like DAMA-DMBOK.
  • Intermediate understanding of APAC regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to create clear reports and work well in a team setting.
  • Experience with the American data management platform Collibra (non-development role) is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in both writing and spoken to communicate effectively with the stakeholders and clients.

  • Experience with database technologies and knowledge of Google Cloud database offerings (e.g. Cloud SQL, Spanner, AlloyDB, etc.).

  • Excellent problem solving, communication, presentation, active listening, and program management skills.

As a Database Sales Specialist Manager, you will lead a team responsible for growing the Database business by building and expanding relationships with new and existing customers. You will build relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Field Sales, Customer Engineering, Solution Architecture, Product) and customers, as well as support the team to do the same. You will ensure the team has the necessary skills to demonstrate product functionality and comprehensive overviews of key business use cases, and close business. You will support a positive and high-performing team culture, while identifying innovative ways to multiply the impact of the team as a whole to drive overall value for Google Cloud. In addition, you will also be responsible as the Sales Specialist for a sub-region and drive database business to customers in that sub-region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of database sales specialists and have ownership for a sales territory to ensure sufficient coverage across the region.
  • Foster a positive and high-performing team culture, supporting the team to drive pipeline, manage business cycles from lead generation to customer onboarding, and meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Develop and own the go-to-market plan to scale and impact business in key areas, including business growth, new customer growth, customer expansion, and customer referenceability.
  • Partner with Field Sales, Marketing, Customer Engineering, Customer Success, Channels, Product, and Engineering to understand customers, impact messaging and collateral, and provide a positive prospect and customer experience.
  • Work with the assigned sub-region’s leadership team to define a databases penetration and ramp strategy, build relationships with key customers and influence GCP database adoption in those accounts.
