Responsibilities:

  • Execution & management of automation projects ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within specifications, and within budget.

Requirements

  • Exposure to Intellution iFIX or FIX32 will be an added advantage.
  • Must be experienced in process control applications in FMCG and/or F&B manufacturing environments.
  • SCADA experience and Gold certification with Ignition is big plus.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $136,000 - $200,000 per year and an additional uncapped commission.

The APC consultant will be responsible for implementing on-line control and optimization strategies at customer manufacturing locations, using Schneider Electric’s APC software technology. The deployments will normally take the form of 3 to 6 months project assignments, during which up to 50% of the consultant’s time may be spent at site. Project locations will typically be in North America but may also be global. The industries concerned will span across the entire process sector: from oil refining and petrochemicals to power generation, pulp and paper and food and beverage.
The purpose of the role is to help customers to achieve real operational benefits by the implementation of high-performance control and optimization strategies:
Increased production yield;
Reduced energy consumption;
Improved environmental compliance.
Usually working as Schneider Electric’s sole representative at site, the consultant will analyze customer requirements and develop solutions that will meet or exceed the expectations.
The consultant must be comfortable working in both control room and board room environments, without day-to-day supervision by senior colleagues. It is important that the APC consultant is comfortable interacting with employees of all levels and positions including the executive leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Execution of Advanced Process Control projects using our Schneider Electric’s APC technology. Typical project will be of 3-6 months duration with up to 50% spent on site. Normally the consultant will be working as the only Schneider Electric representative. Important characteristics are self-confidence, independent thinking, persistence;
Support of the Sales function. Presentations to potential customers, performance of Benefit Studies, preparation of business case, project estimations and proposal documents;
Taking on new initiatives and working on innovative solutions to further grow our business ;
Technical Support of existing customers. Respond to support requests by e-mail and/or telephone. Analyze the nature of the problem and assist customers to find a resolution. This activity is mainly office-based but may require travel to customer site also;
Participate in technology development activities. Software testing, report faults experienced during use, identify and suggest potential improvements;
Engage in the wider Control Engineering community. Represent Schneider Electric at technical conferences, present technical papers, increase personal and company profile within this sphere;
Although focused on APC, become familiar with the wider Schneider Electric DCS and AVEVA Optimization portfolio.
Skills and Qualifications:
Chemical or Control or Electrical Engineering degree;
8+ years of industrial experience in process sector;
Extensive experience with Advanced Process Control software such as EcoStruxure Advanced Process Control (former AVEVA APC), Aspen DMC, Honeywell Forge Advanced Process Control, Yokogawa PACE and similar;
Knowledge of modeling of dynamic processes;
Knowledge of conventional process control systems, instrumentation, DCS, historians;
Understanding of process modelling, dynamical systems;
Availability to travel away from home for up to 50% of working time;
Competences in the general area of computer applications, software development, Windows architectures, networks;
Strong self-motivation and independent thinking;

  • Provide engineering support to meet targets for output, product quality, efficiency, yield, cycle time, and safety.
  • Perform data analysis using statistical tools, summarize findings, and present results to relevant stakeholders for alignment, action, and strategic decision-making.
  • Drive and facilitate meetings to mitigate yield loss, create action roadmaps, and implement continuous improvement strategies with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify chronic process and quality issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Responsible for new product process development and supporting smooth pilot-to-high volume transitions.
  • Collaborate with OSAT process/integration teams to resolve process-related defects impacting yield and product quality.
  • Ensure the relevance and accuracy of Work Instructions, Control Plans, FMEA, and other process control documents.
  • Ensure audit readiness for internal and external audits and manage timely closure of findings.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, or a related field).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in backend semiconductor packaging processes and quality control.
  • Strong foundation in process engineering, yield improvement, and quality control.
  • Proficient in SPC and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, Control Plans, and OSAT backend processes.
  • Hands-on experience with new product and process evaluations.
  • Effective communicator; capable of presenting data and driving cross-team collaboration.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
