The role involves collaborating with all compliance teams to define business requirements and working with product and technology teams. The team supports various compliance functions including KYC, EDD, Name Screening, Transactions Monitoring, Geofencing, Onchain analytics, Market Surveillance, Investigations, Law Enforcement, and SAR teams.
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain compliance systems through review of investigation data, testing, assurance, documentation, governance, change management, monitoring, incident investigations, and continuous improvement.
Research and identify compliance-related risks in cryptocurrency business.
Track policy trends and guidelines from international bodies and governments.
Evaluate and document compliance risks related to Binance's activities.
Conduct horizon scanning for regulatory and internal developments.
Assess FCC and Sanctions risk profiles and their impact on projects.
Draft business requirements for product and technology teams.
Understand technology and system architecture design.
Lead projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables within timelines and budgets.
Perform data analysis to identify compliance risks using a data-driven approach.
Raise challenges confidently and offer different perspectives.
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
6+ years of experience in international compliance or financial crime compliance.
Knowledge of banking processes, procedures, and systems.
University degree in Compliance, Law, Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics preferred.
ACAMS or ACFCS certification preferred.
Strong analytical, writing, and judgment skills.
Professional knowledge of FCC/Sanctions domain, processes, and technology.
Experience with strategic initiatives and FCC/Sanctions oversight.
Ability to work across functional and geographic lines.
Pragmatic, energetic, and innovative mindset.
Strong communication skills, fluent in English.
Expertise in stakeholder management.

Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Governance – facilitate risk management discussions at key committees through effective reporting and communication of risk and control trends, issues, emerging risks and initiatives and own NFR specific governance activities
- Risk Management SME – key point person for NFR and Risk Management queries, especially as related to GPS products and services
- Risk & Control management & awareness – managing the execution of a range of risk & control activities across GPS Owned RCA & increasing risk and control awareness. Support safe business change / growth through active risk management
- Facilitate the execution of the 3 Lines of Defence model by ensuring audits are planned, executed and reporting effectively, working across functions where appropriate. Ensure implementation of audit recommendations and maintain satisfactory level of audits
- Read Across issues across the region to proactively mitigate risk based on control weaknesses or incidents in other sites
- Escalate issues and incidents in line with GPS escalation criteria, tracking incidents to closure and proactively working with GPS functional partners to identify and remediate root causes
- Working with GPS ASP teams globally, regionally and locally to proactively raise risk and control issues through Management Self-Identified Issues, and track through to closure
- Support in the deployment of Group, Regional & ASP risk-related programmes and projects (e.g. Conduct Programme, Proximity Review, Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment etc.). Challenge procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
Requirements
To be successful you will need
- Previous experience within Risk Management or understanding of the group's risk and control framework is essential. Risk & Control subject matter expertise
- Strong focus on the commercial aspect of risk management to make sure that proposals are effective and sustainable
- Communication skills to frame and present complex issues to senior executives/committees working within a matrix organisation
- Prior controls/risk management experience is desirable
- Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior executives across multiple functions
