RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test Case Analysis
  • Understand the requirements from internal and external stakeholders' groups and work with the development team to define and improve the build system quality.
  • Review stories or requirement specs to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous and verifiable.
  • Discuss, analyse and recommend design improvements or corrections to developers throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and project team to identify needs and requirements for estimation of testing scope and time frame.
  • Develop and establish quality assurance deliverables and testing framework, including create and maintain test plans and test cases in accordance with changing requirements, throughout development.
• Test Automation and Execution
  • Create and develop automated test framework whenever possible, such as prepare test environment, maintain functional testing script in accordance with changing requirements.
  • Conduct system integration tests with external parties, validate the output and expected outcome e.g. data to and from external parties' systems and feedback on improvement requirement.
  • Conduct extensive manual functional /exploratory testing, including browser testing.
• Test Management
  • Conduct impact analysis of defect fixes discovered during manual or automated tests, validate completed stories pass the acceptance criteria, raising defects as needed and work with development team to improve the expected behaviour and test cases.
  • Demonstrate the tested stories during Sprint Review and prepare production show case to show the completed stories tested.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 9 years' experience in software engineering, including development and testing.
• Minimum 5 years' experience specialising in test automation frameworks and manual testing methodologies.
• Relevant software development certifications, e.g. Java EE certifications
• Certified Software Testing Professional and/or Certified Software Quality Analyst or an equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding and completion of projects using Waterfall/Agile methodology.
• Demonstrable skills in Java, Selenium, Maven, Jenkins, Jira, Cucumber/Watermelon, JSON, Cloud or SSIS development
• Demonstrate knowledge of automated software testing methodologies such as unit testing, integration testing and functional testing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of creating packaging / build scripts with MSBuild, Maven, Docker etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues ranging from system resource to application stack traces.
• Track record in implementing systems with high availability, high performance, high security hosted at various data centres or hybrid cloud environments will be an added advantage.
• Experience in banking/financial sector or payment systems will be an added advantage.

The scope of Test Engineer shall include the following.

• Responsible for the end-to-end testing activities of an integrated e-payment system;
• Carrying out the activities in the testing lifecycle including test planning, analyzing business and system requirements;
• Preparing the test environment, designing, and developing the test cases;
• Preparing the test environment, executing the test procedures;
• Automating the test solution based on the system design using scripting or programming languages as well as performance tuning;
• Create traceability to requirements, analyze gaps and address them;
• Logging and tracking defects to closure;
• Conducting test reviews with internal and external stakeholders;
• Perform root cause analysis for production and user acceptance defects, address test gaps to ensure test efficiency; and
• Develop design documents and user manuals which would effectively describe and provide clear instructions on the test automation solution to the end users who include testers and stakeholders.

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Engineering;
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in executing testing and developing test automation solutions involving devices (UI-based or embedded) and/or back-office systems with familiarity on the full system development lifecycle from requirement, development, to testing and deployment;
• Good written and verbal communication skills;
• Able to work well both independently as well as in a team;
• Certification in software testing preferred; and
• Experience in Micro-payments/Automatic Fare Collection systems using Smart Cards and in diverse test execution phases (System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Performance testing) would be an advantage.

SUMMARY

Direct Test Engineers I & II in operating within area of assigned responsibilities with a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm, striving to achieve excellence in all endeavors. Designs, develops and maintains test procedures, tester hardware and software for electronic circuit board production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment and Retention:

· Recruit and interview Test Engineers I & II.

· Communicate criteria to recruiters for Process Technician position candidates.

· Coach Test Engineers in the interviewing/hiring process.

· Monitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.

Employee and Team Development:

· Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.

· Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.

· Coach and mentor Test Engineers I & II to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.

Performance Management:

· Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).

· Solicit ongoing feedback from Assistant Test Engineering Manager, Workcell Manager (WCM), Business Unit Manager (BUM), peers and team member on team member’s contribution to the Workcell team. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team members based on feedback.

· Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.

· Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.

· Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.

· Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.

FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy and Direction:

· Know and understand the campus strategic directions.

· Define, develop and implement Test Engineering strategies, which contribute to the campus strategic directions.

· Provide regular updates to Assistant Test Engineering Manager on the execution of the strategy.

Cost Management:

· Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).

· Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.

· Provide feedback to Assistant Test Engineering Manager on cost and cost trends.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform duties, which involve conventional engineering practices that may include a variety of complex duties from ICT, FVT, ESS to System level test.

· Manage the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices.

· Through subordinate supervisors or professional staff, identify and evaluate test procedures and test equipment required to perform quality checks.

· Compile and document data necessary to analyze performance and make recommendations for changes in the testing process.

· Assist/spearhead in the development of special test equipment and software text programs as required for the successful completion of project.

· Assist customer, setup training program for new product testing procedures.

· Provide training and assist test engineers.

· Act as the liaison and technical conduit for assigned customers.

· Explore new avenues and test technologies for quality improvements on product assigned.

· Perform detailed analysis on test quality of product assigned, identify trends and spearhead corrective actions.

· Monitor, through assigned test engineer, all NPI activities.

· Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.

· Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a college or university; and five to ten years experience

You will be responsible for overseeing and executing the full testing lifecycle of an integrated e-payment system, including planning, design, execution, and automation of tests, as well as defect tracking and performance analysis.
