Job Duties:
Comply to the operating hours, allocated shift and duty roster defined by the company
Comply to the hygiene standards, safety rules and regulations of the company
Ensure all assigned duties are completed and within the cleanliness and timeliness requirements of the company
Provide assistance to Cook to do daily preparation of dishes and ingredients, packing and dishing of all meals
Ensure F&B store items are replenished after daily operations
Ensure all crockery wares are clean and sufficient in quantity for every meal operation
Ensure the temperature of food warmers which are used to keep and transfer meals are within safe limits, in line with the requirements.
Inform Supervisor if there are any damaged and faulty equipment, broken crockery wares, cutlery or items.
Undertake any other duties assigned by the F&B Manager or Senior Production Chef
Requirements:
Preferably N level education (or equivalent) and above
1-2 year's relevant experience is preferred
Physically fit
Basic English literacy is required

The Services required of the kitchen helper are set out as follows:
1.Preparation of food ingredients for cookery lessons.
2.Take in the day's food orders delivered. Put food orders on trays for the respective teachers. Clear unwanted packaging or boxes by same day.
3.Teachers will brief kitchen helper on the week's practical lessons and give recipe and sample of layout so that kitchen helper can start preparations for the morning classes.
4.Fill up the soaps, check the cutlery and equipments are in place for each unit.
5.Assist teachers during lessons such as replenish items, and assist students with cookers, ovens, grill, blenders, steamers, mop spills, etc.
6.After lessons, kitchen helper is to help clean up and stock check food items for kitchen and carry forward leftovers. Prepare for late morning's lessons where needed.
7.After lessons, check all cookers are switched off, sinks are clean, cookers are clean and rubbish is disposed of by the same day. Clear the centre store table by the same day.
8.Check In-tray for additional instructions for the day and put in Out-tray when completed.
9.Fax food orders (if any) before 2pm of each day and call the Authority's appointed food supplier to confirm receipt of order. Leave the faxed order forms in teacher's tray in office.

Contract Period: From 2 Jan 2026 to 13 Nov 2026.
Working hours:
Maximum 6 hours a day (flexible start and end timing depending on the first and last class for the day), inclusive of ½ an hour lunch break should duties extend beyond 6 hours for that day
Total number of estimated hours: 1116 (based on estimated 186 days)
Service will not be required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, Self-Directed Learning (SDL) days, and school holidays (e.g., Youth Day, March, June, and September holidays). Personnel may be deployed on an ad-hoc basis only at times during the school holidays.
Scope of Services:
General cleaning of kitchens including cleaning tabletops, sinks, cookers, sweeping and mopping the floor and emptying dustbins.
General cleaning of NFS classrooms including cleaning desks, sweeping and mopping the floor and emptying dustbins.
Refill washing detergent, and check and ensure all equipment is in place for each work bench.
Teachers to brief the week's practical and recipe with sample of layout given so that the kitchen helper can start preparations for the classes.
Preparation of food trays must be done before the lesson, at least half an hour beforehand.
Assist teachers during lessons, help to replenish items, clear teachers' centre tables, assist students with cookers/ovens/grill/blenders/steamers, mop spills etc.
After lessons, kitchen helper to help clean up and store food properly. Any leftover ingredients that are still fresh and safe to use can be kept for use in other classes. Prepare food trays for next lesson if needed.
After lessons, check that all gas taps are turned off and cookers are switched off, cookers and sinks are clean, rubbish is disposed of, and clear/clean the centre store table.
Laundry for kitchen towels/aprons: Wash them in the washing machine and dry them on the rack. Once they are dry, fold them and place on the laundry shelf.
Track and record any breakages.
Arrange tables and chairs neatly in classrooms.
Check all lights, fans and air-conditioner are switched off in all rooms.
Assist teachers in any other duties assigned.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
N or O levels
Food Hygiene certification
Ability to read, speak and write in simple English
Ability to read excel documents
Have previous working experience in school kitchens.

Put all the food order invoices in 1 file.
To prepare the week's practical based on recipe given by portioning for individual students.
Assist teachers during lessons, help to replenish items, clear teachers' tables, assist student with usage of kitchen utensils and appliances where necessary.
After each lesson, help clean up and store food properly. Note the leftovers to carry forward.
After each lesson, check all cookers are switched off, sinks are clean, cookers are clean, and rubbish is disposed of. Clear the rubbish bins.
Laundry for kitchen towels: Dry those in washing machine using the dryer. Fold those in dryer in sets of 10 for each class (1 kitchen towel + 1 tea towel).

Able to speak English.
Have at least 1.5 years of relevant experience working in a school or equivalent.
