What the role is
You conduct research on the information environment and keep abreast of the rapidly changing information environment as well as the technological landscape.
What you will be working on
- Conduct horizon-scanning for emerging technologies and important developments
- Explore new tools and platforms to assess their suitability for monitoring and analysis work
- Work closely with stakeholders to design and implement new tools, including supporting doctrine development
- Sense-make ongoing developments in the information environment
- Translate collected data into insights to support planning and execution of information activities
Challenge(s) - Breaking new ground to develop knowledge and understanding in a new area
- Working under time pressure while remaining flexible and adaptive to changes
- Collaborating with various stakeholders across several agencies
What we are looking for
- Education in Computer Science, Mass Communications and Media, or Psychology is preferred
- Good analytical and writing skills
- Awareness of Singapore's political, defence and security developments, as well as current affairs
- Acute awareness of regional and international technological developments
- Creative problem-solving aptitude and proactive mindset towards addressing research challenges
- Strong foundation or interest in research methodologies and theories in Media Studies
- Ability to work well in a team
- Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageous

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) is a University Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University Singapore that conducts fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and more sustainable societies.
The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies. CTP will generate knowledge and innovation across disciplines including climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences and the arts, finance, health, and engineering. It will also translate state-of-the-art scientific results into real world solutions for Singapore, and it will transfer these solutions to Southeast Asia (SEA) and beyond.
As part of this programme, “Cluster 6. Climate and Human Health”, will predict the future impacts of climate change on human health. The Research Fellow will work with the PI of the Climate and Human Health cluster, Assoc Prof Konstadina Griva, based in the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and will lead several projects related to public perceptions of climate change and health, and health communication strategies in the context of climate change.

Drafting of progress report(s) and final research report

The successful candidate will support research and coordination efforts within a multidisciplinary sustainability program, focusing on life cycle assessment (LCA) to evaluate the environmental performance of established and emerging processes. This role includes designing and conducting cradle-to-gate and cradle-to-grave LCAs, building life cycle inventory (LCI) datasets, and integrating LCA insights into technology development and decision-making.
Key responsibilities :
Include impact modeling, scenario analysis, data compilation, and technical documentation.
Work closely with researchers, industry partners, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure robust sustainability metrics are embedded in process design.
Job Requirements:
