Research Assistant/Associate Policy Analyst (Population Health Modelling)
The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore is seeking a full-time Research Assistant or Research Associate to contribute to the Personalised Outcomes in Populations for Upstream Prevention (POPUP) project. This role is part of Workpackage 1, which focuses on evaluating the long-term health and economic impact of preventive interventions for chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidaemia in Singapore’s ageing population.
The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team working at the interface of public health, epidemiology, and health economics. The role involves modelling chronic disease trajectories and lifecourse healthcare costs, contributing to evidence-informed policymaking for national population health strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• Adapt and extend microsimulation models (e.g. DEMOS, Future Elderly Model) using local health data;
• Conduct cost and cost-effectiveness analyses of chronic disease prevention strategies;
• Analyse large-scale datasets and contribute to model calibration and validation;
• Prepare policy-relevant outputs, including scenario analyses and sensitivity testing;
• Assist with literature reviews, methodological development, and manuscript preparation.
Qualifications and Experience
• A good bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. public health, epidemiology, health economics, statistics, quantitative social sciences, computer science);
• Proficiency in statistical or scientific computing languages such as R or Stata is required;
• Familiarity with microsimulation, cost-effectiveness modelling, or agent-based models is highly desirable;
• Experience with C++ or Python is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated interest in population health, preventive care, or economic evaluation;

Terms of Appointment

Maintain and monitor complex clients’ systems:

- Prepare investment documentation for Board-level assessment.

- Maintain excellent communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify investor leads through outreach, your network, events, and other sources to develop relationships within targeted markets and sectors.
To be successful, candidates should have:
- 6-8 years of international experience within the job scope, with increasing responsibility.
- Prior deal experience in real asset investing (natural resources, infrastructure) in developing markets, demonstrating strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- A master's degree in finance, economics, econometrics, business, or technical field with above-average grades.
- The ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial, commercially minded, and a team player.
- Creative thinking to source innovative investment ideas.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate/close multi-partner deals.
- A network of stakeholders in institutional finance, family offices, corporate, and government sectors is a plus.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Japanese language skills are a plus.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Proactively develop and manage client/business unit relationships ensuring that the expected service levels are achieved across account sites.
- Lead by example and groom the team in achieving the maximum client satisfaction level.
- To collaborate and identify/develop new and existing business opportunities with Savills BD Team
- To work with BD Team on new tenders on the entire process of tender admin, write up, costing and submission
- To generate FM business processes, SOPs and marketing plans into presentable write-up including tender proposals and submissions
- To conduct commercial negotiations with service partners and suppliers
- To enhance relationship with service partners and suppliers for the delivery of FM projects and businesses
- To mobilize new projects within the timeline and budget, and to meet SLA and KPI established in the contract document, generate and establish SOPs and processes, recommending and implementing solutions, and contract management
- To manage multiple projects as a Key Account Manager lead including the management of the account financials and PnLs.
- To support various Account and Site operations including covering duties where necessary
- Actively encourage and act as coach for the teams ensuring high staff morale, trust, and work ethics. Develop a staff development program to ensure staff career progression.
Sustainability:
- Conduct energy audits and gather the relevant data and documentation for the energy audit report
- Assist the client with green mark, LEED, WELLS certification and re-certification works
- Conduct walk-through audit, measurement and verification of building performance to analyse and recommend improvements.
- · Formulate and implement energy, water, and waste plans and evaluations to advance the sustainability agenda.
- Develop engineering solutions that provide the greatest value to our customers
- Assist projects in various project implementations
- Data analysis and upkeep of engineering systems
- Testing and commissioning of implemented systems
- Maintain a high-level of clients’ engagement and customer satisfaction
- Any other duties as assigned by the immediate Superior or Client
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they align with business goals and meet quality standards.
- Provide technical direction and support to the engineering team, helping to solve engineering challenges.
- Implement best practices in computerized maintenance management system software development and engineering processes to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback and recognizing team achievements.
Requirements:
- Degree in a related FM and technical discipline (e.g. Engineering, Sustainability, Energy, Environmental Science)
- Certification with Energy Auditor, SCEM and/or GMAP, GMAAP
- Familiar with LEED, WELL, Green Mark Certification will be an advantage
- At least 5 years of experience in delivering sustainability consulting projects, green mark certification and re-certification, green building projects, or in a related role.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical reports and drawings
- Works well in a team yet can be independent and accountable
- Strong advocate in the energy & sustainability space
- Stakeholder engagement experience includes relevant government authorities (eg BCA, NEA, etc multi-national corporations and senior management
- Explore and introduce new market-available technology and products.
