Supporting and assisting Design Manager in managing day to day project activities, ensuring seamless coordination with consultants and relevant stakeholders. Provide technical assistance to resolve discrepancies, facilitate approvals, and address engineering challenges during project
- Assisting to ensure the functioning of the design and technical team for major infrastructure project and providing design and technical expertise, ensuring that design coordination /resolutions are optimised, fulfilling project and client's requirements and specifications.
- Assisting to coordinate with the consultants to deal with client with integrated multi-disciplinary approach, ensuring complete integration to the overall project requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in preparation and monitoring of detail schedules / targets for temporary and permanent works design ST submissions with consultants to AC, client and BCA to be in line with construction program.
- Potentially optimising design approaches / proposals in aid to minimise construction cost.
- Provision of technical solutions for complex site issues / challenges and resolve technical discrepancies during project execution.
- Provide technical inputs to support project planning, scheduling, and execution strategies.
- Assisting to guide and allocate tasks to Senior Design Engineers / Design Engineers for overall design requirements to support project.
- Preparation of Site Construction and Design Coordination (SCD) for consultants' input and advice for site issues, changes etc.
- Recognised degree in Civil Engineering recognised by the PE board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control as eligible for application as a Resident Engineer or recognised degree in the relevant field subject to the acceptance of the Engineer.
- 10 years relevant experience in civil engineering / infrastructure projects and 8 years in the design for complex rail / road projects.
- Experience in dealing with authorities / agencies submissions ensuring regulatory compliance relating to project preparation and enabling works. Ability to deal with client and have clear understanding of various code of practice, specifications for driving the design and technical coordination of the project.
- Good leadership, communication, technical, problem solving and analytical skills, being able to be decisive, quick and think logically resolving when resolving issues. Meticulous in planning and organisational skills and the ability to work and perform under pressure.
