Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure adequate staffing levels across shifts.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Build effective communication and collaboration channels with residents, families, intra- and inter-departmental teams.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in a health-related subject or equivalent, OR Post-basic Certificate / Advanced Diploma in a Nursing specialty, OR Diploma in Nursing (recognized by Singapore Nursing Board).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar leadership position in a medium or large-sized nursing home, OR at least 6 years of nursing experience as a Senior Staff Nurse in an acute or community hospital.
  • State Registered Nurse with a valid Practicing Certificate from the Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a passion for elderly care.

  • Demonstrate problem solving skills to resolve problems / conflicts among care staff, residents or their family members Ensure effective and efficient of staff management resources, equipment and other material pertaining to resident's care and the Home

  • Interprets policies, procedures objective and standards to constantly motivate staff to perform at their optimal level in day to day operation

  • Identify needs for improvement in delivery of services and standards of care by maintaining direct resident contact and involvement in resident's care

Quality

  • To effectively coordinate, manage and evaluate the services of the Home, ensuring that high standards of nursing care and resident safety are delivered at all times in accordance with the legal, professional and Nursing Home requirements

  • Participate as a member of the health team via attending relevant ward rounds, meetings and team conferences, and involved in discussion of resident-related issues.

  • Maintain self-development through continuing education.

Training and Development

  • Attending meet-ups with AIC, MOH, and other stakeholders in ensuring the quality, standards and guidelines of the nursing home are maintained and enhanced.

  • Collaborates with the Nurse Educator in identifying training needs of the staff.

  • Collaborates with students and undergraduates in Projects/Learning Experiential in Geriatric Setting

Administration

  • Assessment and coordinating of residents for new admission referral and prior discharge from hospitalization

  • Oversee the staff planning roster to ensure sufficient of staff coverage in accordance to the effectiveness of delivering quality nursing care to the residents

  • Direct the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures and standard of practice

  • Responsible to supervision, evaluation and disciplining the performance of all staff within scope of responsibility

  • Assesses the educational and appraisal performance needs of employees in collaboration with ADON and Registered Nurses

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with existing and enhanced regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Oversee the efficient and safe day-to-day operations within nursing homes as well as monitor and enforce compliance to operational SOP and policies.
  • Track and review Nursing key performance indicators and continuously identify areas of improvements and gaps.
  • Lead and/or participate in various quality and continuous improvement projects to improve care standards.
  • Collaborate with other members of the care team to provide and achieve the best outcomes to residents
  • Manpower budget planning and control
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, orientation, training and performance management of care staff
  • Oversee, track and report on status and progress of projects assigned that could involve the setting up of new facilities, work processes or programmes.
  • Researching and drawing up proposals for management review
  • Involvement in other areas of the company's business as necessary from time to time

Requirements:-

  • Possess a degree or Advanced diploma in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board
  • At least 5 years of clinical with management experience
  • Willing to work in Marsiling, Clementi, Simei or Balestier branch
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills and team player
