The Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Professor) rank, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: media studies, visual communication, science communication, cultural studies, and computational communication . Applicants would need to possess PhD in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with strong interdisciplinary expertise in areas such as soil mechanics, underground construction, soil improvement, instrumentation, monitoring, numerical analysis, Geoenvironmental engineering, as well as using the latest technologies such as AI, digitalization, data analytics, zero carbon and emerging geomaterials. Applicants who are competent to teach first- and second-year undergraduate basic courses for Civil Engineering such as Mechanics of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Computing and Mathematics will be considered favourably. Candidates would also need to demonstrate strong and relevant teaching ability and strong communication skills. Applicants with industry experience will have an added advantage.
