The systems engineer is responsible for providing pre-sales technical support for Ruckus Network solution. This role will partner with sales teams to win new business or provide support to ensure customers achieve immediate return on their network investments.
Main responsibilities include: perform in-depth technical presentations and design recommendations for customers, partners or integrators on new market platforms, network infrastructures or network management solutions. Conduct or participate in customer meetings related to solutions, systems architectures, design and overall deployment providing best practice.
You will make an impact by:
- Assist with the sales strategy development, and design of complex networking topology for customer installation in addition to providing mentorship/guidance on technology trends to clients, partners, and employees.
- Participate in supporting the region in preparation of detailed proposals and project deployments, BOM and RFPs.
- Educating partners on benefits of Ruckus Networking solutions as primary objective, and CommScope infrastructure solution as secondary objective.
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers / partners to increase preference and demand for Ruckus products and services.
- Providing technical updates to customers and business partners.
- Assisting with complex bid support.
- Account management - relationship with technical peers (partner & customer)
- Assistance at marketing events.
- Preparation & delivery of proof of concept activities.
- Takes a lead role in customer meetings related to solutions, systems architectures, design and overall deployment.
- Works with sales team to schedule, prepare and lead technical product presentations and discussions with an emphasis on achieving technical closure within sales opportunities.
- Takes the lead role in developing and performing product / solution demonstrations during the sales process, schedule and set up customer proof of concepts / trials.
- Drives corporate knowledgebase within Ruckus and provides insight and competitive information into the company on market trends with a given partner or customer’s solution needs.
- Conducts periodic reports to corporate staff on market demands, changes to customer adoption, and opportunity analysis.
- Communication driver between field and corporate on technical issues and provide technical resource for escalation of technical issues to the appropriate internal resource, with bug reporting/tracking.
- Acts as a trusted advisor towards the customer and partners as the go-to person regarding IT-business challenges that involve networking elements.
- Ensures customers / partners work with accurate and actual information that is helping to make the correct solution decision.
- SE will be key communication bridge between partners and our TAC support engineers.
- Conduct hands-on technical training to local partners/customers in local language.
Required qualifications for consideration:
- Completion of a university degree or an equivalent level of education is required for this job position.
- Minimum 10 years of Pre-sales experience working with Networking technologies.
- Strong IP networking background in Switching, Routing, Wireless technologies & Secure Access protocols (VLANs, STP, OSPF, RIP, BGP, Multicast, BGP-EVPN, VPN, IPSec, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 802.1x, RADIUS, QoS, VoIP etc.).
- Having skills in Wi-Fi site survey tools such as including Ekahau and AirMagnet as well as protocol analyzers like Wireshark is desired
- Having skills in server virtualization technologies, cloud computing, data center technologies, and networking is desirable.
- Ruckus product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings is an advantage.
- Professional level networking industry certifications like BPIPA, JNCIP, WiSE, WiSE-SZ, RWCA-SE, CWNA, CWNE, CCNP in Routing & Switching or Wireless etc. is preferred.
- Effective technical presentation skills and communications skills
- Ability to deliver meaningful training courses and/ or speaking at public industry events
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain relationships
- Good public speaking and written communication skills.

- Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems.
- Support of process control clients at sites in Singapore and abroad.
- May grow into position leading team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions for clients.
- Electrical design and Process Control fundamentals.
- Experience with Data Center technologies (BMS, DCIM, PMS) is a strong plus.
- Familiar with Controllers, such as single loop control, PLC, DCS, DDC or PC based control.
- Exposure to Control Theory and some process understanding is helpful but not required.
- Platform knowledge in Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Emerson, DeltaV, etc.
- Process understanding of batch or continuous process control, combustion control, etc.
- Awareness of process safety, validation, and good documentation practices.
- Programming languages: PLC ladder logic, Function Block, SFC VB.
- Third party HMI/SCADA Software, i.e. Intellution, WonderWare, OSIsoft, etc.
- Others: network design/administration.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 experience in automation system engineering in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
