What role will you play?

You will provide tax technical advice on new and complex transactions across various businesses within Macquarie Group, including trading of Commodities, Fixed Income, Equities, Asset Management, and Capital Investments. Your role will also involve ensuring appropriate processes and controls are in place to meet Macquarie’s tax obligations, liaising with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities on tax-related issues and audits.

Your Impact:

  • As a Senior Tax Specialist overseeing 4 entities, your primary responsibilities include ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations across all jurisdictions in which the entities operate. You will manage and coordinate the preparation and filing of tax returns, both federal and state, and ensure timely payment of all tax obligations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

1. Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and file accurate and timely monthly, half-yearly, and annual tax returns for entities in Thailand, including income tax, sales tax, and any other applicable taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Review tax computations and ensure they align with current tax legislation in each jurisdiction.
  • Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.

5. Strategic Tax Planning:

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the tax liabilities of each entity while maintaining compliance with tax laws in Thailand, and other relevant jurisdictions.

Your ideal profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or equivalent is highly desirable.

  • Review, provide recommendations on agreements and/or documents of clients for compliance and risk mitigation purposes
  • Assess and identify (cross business line) business development opportunities, whilst managing tax engagements.
  • Review, provide recommendations, solutions on clients' portfolio and to understand what they have on hand and how this portfolio is to translate into a target revenue.
  • Work along with staff, peers and partners on the delivery of tax advisory to multinational clients across industries in Singapore and globally.
  • Lead the team and the process for all tax related engagements.
  • Manage junior staff coaching, training and development.
  • Build strong external and internal relations with clients, networks, teams and across other service.
  • Involve in any other adhoc projects and related tasks as and when required by the Partner(s).
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or relevant discipline preferably with a professional qualification as recognised by SCTP
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years related experience, preferably from a professional services firm/Accounting firm.
  • Must be familiar with Singapore Tax guidelines.
  • Strong delivery management, enforcement of timely execution and on time delivery.
  • Proven leadership, project management and analytical skills
  • Proven communication skills, including spoken and written English, and ability to work across all levels.
  • Strong team player.

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Regional Tax Manager to take on a high-impact role overseeing tax matters across multiple Asia Pacific markets. This position offers broad exposure to tax strategy, compliance, and advisory in a complex, fast-paced regional environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee corporate tax reporting, planning, and transfer pricing, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Support tax compliance efforts and monitor evolving country-specific issues, particularly around transfer pricing.
  • Lead the development of tax-efficient models and structures, and engage with authorities on incentives and advisory matters.
  • Drive tax optimization initiatives related to market entry, supply chain management, and regulatory changes.
  • Coordinate regional tax operations, including intercompany transactions, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and business teams on tax incentives and planning initiatives.
  • Contribute to digital transformation by implementing tools to support dashboard reporting and effective tax rate planning.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Tax, or Finance; CPA or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in international or regional tax roles, with exposure to Asia Pacific markets.
  • Strong knowledge of transfer pricing, tax audits, corporate tax compliance, and cross-border structuring.
  • Skilled in partnering with stakeholders across functions and comfortable working in matrixed environments.
