Role Summary And Impact
In this role, you will be working closely with Finance Director / Commercial business partner, Regional Finance Director and FinancePlus in Malaysia to oversee day-to-day tax activities including GST, Business & Corporate restructuring / arrangement / merger acquisition, withholding tax, transfer pricing, intercompany service fee, audit & taxes, corporate tax & etc to ensure company’s transactions are correctly booked, reported and timely filed with relevant authorities.

- Manage all taxes compliance process across the local and APAC region
- Ensure accurate and timely filing and settlement of tax compliance returns (GST, Corporate tax, WHT, interco transfer pricing documentation & Interco agreements, Tax queries & etc)
- Establish good rapport with the agencies /commercial leads and exercise in partnering with stakeholders
- Prepare / review response to tax authorities’ queries and / or support tax audits, challenges and disputes as they arise in Singapore and APAC entities
- Prepare / review internal tax reporting packages, corporate tax computation and year-end tax reconciliation / disclosure notes for Singapore and APAC entities
- Responsible for transfer pricing policy, interco agreement and documentation for Singapore and APAC entities
- Advise on the structuring of commercial transactions and contractual arrangements from tax perspective
- Manage and maintain APAC entities service fee contracts, computation, transfer pricing documents and interco agreements, withholding tax and recharges
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments, and propose strategies to the management / commercial lead on how to capitalise on these developments
- Ensure transactions are booked under the correct tax categories and tax compliance
- Provide & lead on tax advisory to internal stakeholders around various projects that might include acquisitions, restructuring, refinancing and support tax planning and business projects
- Prepare / review the India tax filing / submission and relevant legislation if applicable together with tax agent in India for Singapore and APAC entities
- Manage and maintain Singapore and APAC entities /division corporate registration, bizfile, Corppass & other corporate matters
- Prepare / manage on APAC subsidiaries and associate dividend, board resolutions and relevant documentations required
- Proactively identify tax issues and compliance and saving opportunities
- Find and implement opportunities for improvement in tax processes and documentation
- Report to Finance Director / business partner on potential tax exposures or issues
- Provide tax training to business units and team and act as a tax business partner to agency
- Respond to business units’ ad-hoc tax queries on business arrangements
- Establish and maintain effective systems and controls that meet Financial & Tax, reporting compliance requirements
- Support and participate in the implementation of functional and operational projects / assignments, business integration
- Identify indirect tax risks and opportunities. Bring improvements to tax compliance and control process to achieve higher efficiency and minimize tax leakage.
- Streamline compliance process by improving data quality and process automation
- Ad-hoc assignment or project if applicable
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accountancy or its equivalent
- At least 5 years of relevant experience with a combination of Big 4 or commercial tax experience
- Good background in tax compliance, and handling of tax audits and tax advisory work, regional tax exposure is advantage
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills to liaise with the Finance, Commercial and Financeplus in Malaysia
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the agency, FinancePlus and Regional with strong self-starter characteristics
- Conscientiousness, attention to details, attentiveness to accuracy and while maintaining a positive attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with ability to adapt to the challenging needs of the organization and demands of both internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide tax advice, guidance, training to internal users on direct taxes, indirect taxes, withholding tax and other tax matters. Develop tax sharing content and conduct tax sharing sessions/ training to finance peers
Tax Advisory
• Business partnering to provide tax support on business transactions and projects
• Provide tax leadership and support on M&As and internal projects
• Support Human Resource department on foreign assignment’s tax compliance matters
• Review business and intercompany contracts for tax risk management
• Support/ handle application for tax incentives and government grants
Tax Audit
• Manage tax audits and queries from tax authorities in collaboration with local country Finance team
• Analyze exposure and assessment, update stakeholders regularly
Tax Trends & Development
• Stay on top of tax law changes, evaluate impact on business, handle change management
Other duties
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned from time to time
Candidate requirement:
• A person with positive mindset, can-do attitude, initiative-taker, collaborative skills, team worker
• Strong technical background, practical experience handling regional direct and indirect tax matters for MNCs. Transfer pricing working knowledge
• Strong accounting and analytical skills with ability to research and apply tax law; willingness to learn new technical skills independently. Good professional judgement
• Self-motivated, strong sense of accountability, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Keen eye for details, strong problem-solving skill, able to multi-task, manage competing priorities
• Good interpersonal skill, maturity to work with minimal supervision, ability to meet datelines
• Degree in accountancy/ professional qualification, at least 10 years’ experience in MNCs performing similar roles
• Good verbal and written English, fluence in Mandarin to support the China entities

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee corporate tax reporting, planning, and transfer pricing, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
- Support tax compliance efforts and monitor evolving country-specific issues, particularly around transfer pricing.
- Lead the development of tax-efficient models and structures, and engage with authorities on incentives and advisory matters.
- Provide tax input on M&A and restructuring activities, including integration and reorganization.
- Drive tax optimization initiatives related to market entry, supply chain management, and regulatory changes.
- Coordinate regional tax operations, including intercompany transactions, budgeting, and reporting.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and business teams on tax incentives and planning initiatives.
- Contribute to digital transformation by implementing tools to support dashboard reporting and effective tax rate planning.
- Degree in Accounting, Tax, or Finance; CPA or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in international or regional tax roles, with exposure to Asia Pacific markets.
- Strong knowledge of transfer pricing, tax audits, corporate tax compliance, and cross-border structuring.
- Skilled in partnering with stakeholders across functions and comfortable working in matrixed environments.
