Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive vehicles, including identifying problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
• Perform routine vehicle tune-ups, maintenance, and inspections.
• Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
• Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles.
• Completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Collaborate with the team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
• Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Aftersales, the Mechanic/Senior Mechanic/Head Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that vehicles and equipment are maintained and repaired efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a technical Electric Vehicle background, proven leadership abilities, and extensive hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, mechanical repairs, and servicing vehicles in an authorized dealership environment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring overall operation of the garage, including safety, cleanliness and workflow efficiency.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and perform quality control checks before vehicle delivery
• Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance tasks
• Identify and troubleshoot discrepancies or recurring issues in repairs processed; implement root-cause solutions
• Responsible for ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to a schedule to minimize breakdowns and maximize performance
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities and parts usage
• Adhere to established procedures and guidelines for maintenance and repairs
• Any other ad-hoc duties assigned

Requirements

• Certification or Diploma in Automotive Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic in an Authorized Dealership environment
• Certified in Electric Vehicle (EV) technology and possess a valid certification is an advantage
• Possess diagnostic and troubleshooting skills of Electric Vehicles is an advantage

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

• Troubleshoot malfunctions with the knowledge of electrical systems, diesel engines, or hydraulic systems
• Repair, overhaul and rebuild diesel engines and machinery sub-systems
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
• Inspection of machines and equipment and conduct diagnostic check on functionality issues
• Assist with coordination and regulatory inspections of equipment, land and marine

Requirements or Experience

• Experience working as mechanic or assistant mechanic for cranes or vessels (i.e. tug boats, work boats) will be an advantage
• Two or more years of skilled experience in the repair and maintenance of diesel engine repair and maintenance with knowledge of major engine assemblies, hydraulic systems, fuel systems or electrical systems
• Entry level candidates with NITEC/ Higher NITEC/ Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical/ Automotive/ Diesel Engine related discipline also encouraged to apply.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, illustrations, specifications, diagrams and schematics
• Skillful in using hand tools, precision measuring equipment and other tools
• Good team player, and able to work with others from different countries
• Preferably with Class 3 driving license
• Willing to work in outdoor conditions
• Willing to work extended working hours including night and weekend if needed
• Other certification such as CSOC (Construction Safety Orientation Course), crane erector certification would be helpful.
