Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair automotive vehicles, including identifying problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle tune-ups, maintenance, and inspections.
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
- Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles.
- Completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Collaborate with the team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

- Troubleshoot malfunctions with the knowledge of electrical systems, diesel engines, or hydraulic systems
- Repair, overhaul and rebuild diesel engines and machinery sub-systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
- Inspection of machines and equipment and conduct diagnostic check on functionality issues
- Assist with coordination and regulatory inspections of equipment, land and marine
Requirements or Experience
- Experience working as mechanic or assistant mechanic for cranes or vessels (i.e. tug boats, work boats) will be an advantage
- Two or more years of skilled experience in the repair and maintenance of diesel engine repair and maintenance with knowledge of major engine assemblies, hydraulic systems, fuel systems or electrical systems
- Entry level candidates with NITEC/ Higher NITEC/ Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical/ Automotive/ Diesel Engine related discipline also encouraged to apply.
