Working Hours:
Day shift: 0800–1700
Night shift: 2000–0500
Work Schedule Rotation: 4D1O4N1O1R
Day OT: 0800–2000 (12 hours)
Night OT: 2000–0800 (12 hours)
Salary Range: SGD 2,500-3,000/month
Employment Type: Full-Time/ Contract
The HSE Coordinator / Gas Checker will assist in enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards onboard vessels and within fabrication bays. The role involves daily safety monitoring, firefighting readiness, gas testing, and supporting emergency response operations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Key Responsibilities- They shall report to the HSE Supervisor / HSE Technician / Asst. Emergency Response Officer and assist in the daily HSE enforcement on board vessel under their charge.
- Ensure the firefighting and safety equipment that are provided on board the vessel under his charge are kept in good working condition.
- Ensure and monitor that hazardous operations conducted between different trades or contractors are properly coordinated and carried out safely.
- Ensure that safety and fire prevention equipment are promptly rigged up upon vessel's arrival and similarly removed prior to vessel's departure.
- Carry out regular fire prevention and safety patrol on board vessel.
- Monitor the compliance with the HSE management system by the workforce working on board vessel or fabrication bays.
- Perform firefighting/rescue and oil pollution operations when the needs arise.
- Conduct regular gas monitoring of confined spaces and update status on the tank/confined space status chart.
- Ensure the updated tank/confined space status chart and appropriate safety signs are prominently displayed at entrance of confined spaces.
- Conduct frequent patrol at critical hot work areas on board vessel and ensure that dedicated fire watchman has been deployed. Equipped with portable fire extinguisher or charged fire hose.
- Ensure general housekeeping on board vessel is maintained at all times and passageways and emergency exits are kept clear of obstruction.
- Ensure strict management is enforced in running of electrical cables and hoses on the main deck and entrance to confined spaces.
- Conduct HSE enforcement and take disciplinary action against recalcitrant safety offenders.
- Assist Project Manager in monitoring effective provision of ventilation for confined spaces.
- Conduct compliance checks/inspections on board vessel/project to identify unsafe act or conditions and equipment. Report such findings to the HSE Officer.
- Perform firefighting and rescue operations as directed by the HSE Officer or HSE Supervisor.
- Ensure all personnel complied with the standard requirement of personal protective equipment at all times.
- Maintain and update personal safety patrol book.
- Minimum NITEC / Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in a similar HSE role preferred.
- Physically fit and able to work onboard vessels or in confined spaces.
- Ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Requirements
- Formal Work Safety and Health qualifications

Maintain WSHE records and liaise with relevant authorities.
Identify training needs and conduct WSHE training sessions.
Establish WSHE programs to promote safety awareness.
Monitor and improve WSHE performance, including identifying unsafe conditions.
Advise subcontractors on compliance with safety regulations.
Conduct routine inspections and audits, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
