The Healthcare Assistant in the Central Sterile Supply Department will be responsible to ensure supply of sterilised sets / items for Operating Theatre and all clinical areas.
Responsibilities
- Clean, pack, and sterilize surgical tools to ensure patient safety
- Monitor sterilization processes and record results to meet quality standards
- Keep sterile items safe and ready for use in surgeries
- Receive supply requests and deliver items to operating rooms and wards
- Manage inventory to ensure supplies are always available
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Keep department records and reports organized and up to date
- Track and document supply orders from wards
- Report equipment issues to the Nurse Manager or Staff Nurse
Requirements
- Minimum Secondary level or Equivalent
- Able to read and write in simple English
- At least 1 year of relevant hospital experience
- Has prior experience of in Central Sterile Supply Department will be added advantage
- Able to work staggered shift on a 6-day work week including weekends

Purpose of the Job
Responsible for caring for clients with various medical conditions in the Senior Care Centre. To perform direct care duties including nursing care, elimination management, attend to clients' hygiene & grooming, monitor vital signs, ensuring clients' safety during care, perform simple nursing procedures under supervision, diet management including assistance with feeding, handles medical emergencies, conduct activities and support clinical administrative duties.

- Assist in both group and individual activities for clients
- Assist clients with all activities of daily living and report progress to Centre Manager and therapists
- Elimination management such as toileting and changing diapers
- Assist in safe preparation of food (example cutting, blending, reheating, thickener)
- Feeding of clients and ensure proper supervision of clients during meal times
- Attentive to persons with dementia and other mental disabilities
- Activate clinicians and assist them in emergencies

Required qualifications and experience:
- GCE levels / WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care). Minimum Diploma in healthcare or equivalent for overseas qualifications.
- Minimum 1 year or above working experience in a Senior Care Centre, Nursing home or with similar settings.
- Trained in BCLS or CPR or first aid.
Required Competencies:
- Must be able to assist in lifting or transferring of clients,
- Able to converse in simple local languages and dialects.
- Able to handle medical emergencies and take lead in absence of clinicians.
- Reliable team member, possess positive work and good interpersonal skills.
