Role Overview

The Finance Director will be a key member of the Management Board, responsible for the overall financial management of the firm. This individual will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee financial operations, and ensure the firm's financial health aligns with its long-term objectives.

The ideal candidate is accountant-trained, has proven experience in professional services organisations, and thrives in environments where they must engage with highly independent professionals.

The Finance Director must be solutions-driven, commercially savvy, and capable of forecasting and interpreting numbers in the context of evolving market and regulatory conditions. They must also be AI-savvy, with a strong understanding of how emerging technologies can enhance data capture, financial analysis, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the Management Board in developing and executing the firm's financial strategy.

  • Provide thought leadership on financial performance, growth strategies, cost management, and capital planning.

  • Advise on financial implications of key decisions, market trends, and business opportunities.

2. Financial Management & Operations

  • Lead all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, billing, collections, and compliance.

  • Build and maintain a forward-looking dashboard that tracks revenue, collections, profitability, and KPIs by practitioners and practice group.

4. Forecasting & Market Analysis

  • Analyse financial performance in the context of wider market conditions and provide accurate forecasting.

  • Monitor macroeconomic and regulatory changes that impact the professional services sector and translate them into actionable insights.

  • Prepare financial scenarios and risk assessments to support business continuity and strategic planning.

5. Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to become proactive business partners.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, financial discipline, and commercial awareness across the firm.

  • Reposition finance as a solutions-driven function that supports partners in managing clients and collections.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.

  • At least 12–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a strong track record in professional services firms.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with demanding and highly independent professionals.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, scenario planning, and aligning financial models with market dynamics.

Job Title: Finance Director (APAC)

Location: Singapore

Our client is a fast-growing international financial services and technology company with a strong presence across Asia. They are seeking an accomplished Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership across the APAC region. This is a high-impact role that will lead regional financial strategy, capital management and governance, while supporting business expansion.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in capital raising, investor relations, structured or trade financing , along with a proven track record in international financial reporting, consolidation and compliance . This role requires a strategic finance leader who can influence decision-making at senior level while maintaining financial discipline and operational excellence.

The Finance Director will oversee regional financial operations , including consolidated reporting under IFRS, treasury and cash flow management, tax planning, audit governance and financial controls. A key focus will be to support capital structure optimisation, financing strategy and investor communication , working closely with banks, financial institutions and investment stakeholders.

This role also plays a key part in business partnering , providing commercial insights and financial leadership to senior executives. The Finance Director will lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and support strategic initiatives including financing programs, business expansion and financial transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead capital strategy and fundraising initiatives (debt/equity/alternative financing)
  • Manage investor relations and financial communications with external stakeholders
  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting and ensure IFRS compliance
  • Lead treasury, working capital and cash flow optimisation across APAC
  • Drive FP&A, financial planning, budgeting and performance management
  • Strengthen governance, financial controls and compliance frameworks
  • Coordinate external audits, ensure tax compliance, and manage statutory and regulatory reporting across regional entities.
  • Lead structured and trade financing activities to support regional working capital
  • Build and develop a high-performing regional finance team
  • Partner with senior management on financial strategy and growth execution

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent) preferred
  • 15+ years of senior finance leadership experience with APAC exposure
  • Proven experience in capital raising and investor engagement
  • Strong financial reporting background under IFRS
  • Hands-on experience in treasury, audit, compliance and financial control
  • Exposure to structured/trade financing or supply chain financing advantageous
  • Strong leadership, analytical ability and commercial acumen
  • Able to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with listed-company reporting or pre-IPO environments
  • Engagement with banks, corporate finance teams or investment funds
  • Finance transformation, systems implementation or process optimisation experience
    Experience in financing strategy, cross-border funding or corporate restructuring will be valued.
