Strong understanding of different machining methods and the tools used. **Primary Responsibilities*** # Set up and operate CNC equipment (i.e. – 5 Axis milling & Lathe)* # Propose program edits for necessary revisions required in order to repair parts.* # Run new part at infancy stages and propose required edits and sequencing of operations to include any tooling changes required.* # Read, translate, and verbalize G code program, as presented. As a CNC Machinist, candidate will be involved in day-to-day operations in a face-pace production workshop. Candidate will be required to handle heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform mechanical design on jigs, fixtures and interfaces
Operate and setup CNC Milling, Conventional Milling and Lathe machines
Convert design concepts into drawings using Solidwork/SolidCam
Perform fabrication works/ G-code Programming
Work closely with team to provide daily engineering support and innovative solutions for customers, all enclosure and box designs
Troubleshoot and maintain machines, equipment, tools and facilities
Ensure quality in drawings, products, and proper documentation on projects
Ensure project deadlines are met with proper planning
Suggest corrective actions or changes/ activities for improvements to optimise costs, maximum work efficiency and effectiveness
Dutifully ensure quality and safety compliance (5S), perform daily housekeeping and maintain/ upkeep the cleanliness of the workshop
Any other duties as assigned by Superior, e.g. update tool lists, filing of programming/ CAD files, train new CNC operators/interns, etc.

• Programs lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
• Sets-up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.

7. Perform grinding and polishing

8. Perform engineering related jobs such as multiple point sensor and chamber.

9. Perform in-process inspection on machining parts using available equipment.

10. Responsible to maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area.

11. Initiate and suggest continuous improvement ideas to improve process, productivity and quality.

12. Must be proficient in manual programme using G-code for variety of designs and materials.
