The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Bero Coffee Singapore will oversee the daily operations of the company, ensuring efficiency, quality, and profitability in all operational processes. This includes supply chain management, trading operations, quality assurance, sustainability/compliance, and cross-functional alignment between departments. The COO plays a key leadership role in scaling the business and supporting the Regional CEO in executing strategic objectives within the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Drive Operational Excellence and Operational Discipline
- Oversee end-to-end coffee supply chain operations from origin to destination.
- Drive consistent operational standards across entities in the Asia Hub (e.g., Singapore, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, etc.).
- Implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and minimize risks.
- Ensure alignment and integration of systems, processes, and controls across various entities in Asia.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to align operations with sales strategies, contracts, and client expectations within Asia Hub.
- Monitor execution of physical trades and contracts to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation and regulatory compliance for international coffee trade (e.g., Incoterms, FOB, CIF, etc.).
- Mitigate operational risks and bottlenecks in cross-border flows.
- Translate business goals into operational plans, KPIs, and actionable outcomes.
- Lead operational due diligence and integration for new markets, suppliers, or expansion activities.
- Support digital transformation and automation efforts in trading and logistics processes.
- Manage operational budgets, cost control, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, including supply disruptions, compliance gaps, or quality issues.
- Collaborate with finance on inventory management, working capital optimization, and cost allocation.
- Lead and develop multi-functional operational teams across supply chain management, QA, origin offices, and warehouses.
- Foster a performance-driven, accountable culture with a strong emphasis on collaboration and continuous improvement, ownership, and operational excellence across the region.
- Collaborate closely with key functions, including Finance, HR, IT, and others in APAC.
- Build a culture of operational excellence, ownership, and collaboration across the region.
- Ensure adherence to sustainability sourcing programs (e.g., NKG Bloom/Verified, Rainforest Alliance, Organic, and Fair Trade).
- Drive traceability, ESG reporting, and compliance with local and international trading laws.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Agriculture or a related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within the soft commodity sector.
- Strong understanding of international logistics, trading documentation, and customs processes.
- Experience working in a regional or global matrix organization.
- Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills.
