Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies to automate various manufacturing processes and operations
Lead a team of automation engineers and technicians to design, configure, and maintain automated systems

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Scope

1) To understand the requirement of Vessel’s Owners and Technical Superintendents related to Marine Automation , Electronics , Refrigeration and Electrical issues . To promptly reply to all their queries and then provide them with optimal and cost effective technical solutions .

2) Upon getting approvals from vessel’s owners to carry out the implementation of the solutions offered onboard vessel such as installation , retrofitting and commissioning of any particular system or equipment etc. To supervise and lead a team of engineers / technicians for implementation of solutions provided to the Ship’s Owners.

3) To mentor , coach and train the service team about the correct procedure to be followed while entering Cargo Oil Tanks and Water Ballast Tanks onboard vessel . To give them demos onboard vessel about the safety and preventive measures to be taken while working in the confined spaces and hazardous location on Ships. To ensure that there are no injuries to the service team while working onboard vessel as safety and health are of paramount importance to our company.

4) To adhere as well as comply to all the regulations as laid out by the Classification Societies and Regulatory Bodies such as ABS , LR , DNV , International Maritime Organisation ( IMO ) and MPA Singapore etc.

5) To ensure that all the jobs are being carried out in a well streamlined and time bound manner onboard vessel.

6) To provide regular updates and details of the work done to vessel’s owners as well as vessel’s master onboard vessel.

7) Upon completion of the job , To carry out the system commissioning in the presence of ship’s owners and vessel’s staff onboard vessel. Need to ensure that the system commissioning as well as sea trials of the vessels at Shipyard are carried out successfully and satisfactorily.

8) Establish Strong Business Relationships with Vessel Owners and Ship Management companies by giving presentations of our Technical Products and Services , regular email interactions , preparation and submission of Electrical Circuit Diagrams and Drawings whenever required by them , understanding the technical requirements of the vessel , identifying the root cause of the issue / problem and then providing the most suitable technical solution to them etc.

9) To provide remote technical assistance to the vessel in case of emergency or when the vessel is somewhere overseas in order to minimise the downtime. The remote technical assistance to be provided through emails or telephonic support will be on a 24 X 7 Basis.

  • Lead a team of engineers comprising of process, mechanical and electrical engineers work on projects that involve multiple applications including SCADA, plant controls, telecommunications networks, and related systems.
  • Prepare an overview after review of the Client’s IC&A strategy and compared it with project provisions.
  • Preparation of Instrument List and cabling requirements and scope matrix will be your responsibility when procurement is required for the IC&A scope.

  • Represent the Company at client and consultants meetings on IC&A matters.
  • Review and understand the IC&A interfaces with other sub contracts or third parties and prepare a program to meet the interface milestones or bring to the attention of the supervising consultants in a timely manner on our requirements to meet construction program.
  • Prepare Inspection and Testing Procedure for the IC&A Systems and lead in the testing and commissioning of the IC&A systems. Work with other disciplines from the Company and are expected to assist to ensure a full integration of process equipment controls.
  • Manage the budget of the for the IC&A scope and prepare monthly report on the cash flow to the Project Manager.
Requirements
  • Possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering / Advanced Diploma in Process Control and Instrumentation.
  • 10 years of EICA work experience, preferably in water/waste water projects.
  • Experience in Selection, installation and Commissioning of Instruments.
  • Experience in Basic Programming of PLC/DCS and SCADA.
  • Experience in Project Execution, Supervising and Coordination with sub-contractors, consultant and Client.

**Key Responsibilities**
Lead and/or develop and execute unusually complex projects having a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design, which are leading edge of system functionality or technology; spearhead research and development of new technologies as appropriate; and work with Marketing to insure the meet market requirement specifications (MRS) is valid and attainable.
