This position will report directly to the Albert Winsemius Chair Professor and offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in applied economic research. Attached to the Albert Winsemius Chair and Economic Growth Centre, successful candidates will collaborate closely with the Chair Professor and his team, and perform a variety of functions:
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting literature review on the economic development of Singapore, and state-of-the-art cost-benefit analysis valuation techniques
- Assisting in the writing of a book manuscript on the economic development of Singapore
- Preparing sections of surveys, experiments, analysis plans, manuscripts, reports and grant proposals
- Assisting in conducting surveys, experiments, and data analysis
Support the research projects and activities under the Albert Winsemius Chair:
Measuring Poverty in Singapore (in conjunction with Tier 1 Grant)
- Academic events organized under Albert Winsemius Chair
- Supporting the chair professor in conferences, workshops and research meetings
- Other ongoing and planned research projects
- Performing other related duties assigned by the Chair Professor in support of these projects
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor / Master in Economics or related discipline from a research-oriented university
- Research experience in Cost-Benefit Analysis, Development Economics, Experimental Economics Public Policy and/or Economic History are highly desirable.
- Experience in preparing and conducting quantitative economic surveys, experiments and analysis.
- Interest in the history of economic development in Singapore.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, is seeking a highly motivated and capable Research Assistant or Research Associate (RA) to support an ongoing clinical research study under the supervision of Associate Professor Kavita Venkataraman. This project aims to evaluate the feasibility, accuracy, and utility of tele-dental screening for periodontitis in individuals with diabetes. The successful candidate will play a key role in participant interaction, oral health data collection, and overall study operations. The RA will also be expected to work independently, while working in a team-based setting.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct epidemiological oral examination and capture high-quality intra-oral images in individuals with diabetes
• Facilitate participant recruitment, scheduling, and obtain informed consent.
• Administer structured oral health questionnaires through face-to-face interviews.
• Perform data entry in REDCap and ensure accurate and secure documentation of study data.
• Work closely with other dental professionals and research team members to ensure smooth execution of study procedures.
• Maintain compliance with study protocols, ethical guidelines and other study related protocols such as sterilization of instruments and so on.
• Perform quality checks and administrative tasks related to study operations.
• Draft research reports and manuscripts for scientific sharing and publication

The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the role of Research Associate with the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HRPC is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the NUS, to spearhead and conduct research and development to better enable the future challenges arising from rising ambient heat.
We are looking for proactive and enthusiastic candidates to be part of our growing team focused on heat health research with translational impact. Research Assistants/ Associates will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing the challenges of training and operating in rising ambient temperatures. The research areas will delve into areas including heat acclimatization, chronic heat exposure, and sensemaking of physiological biomarkers. Successful candidates will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise and thermal physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to not only develop your expertise in research planning and execution, but also to be a part of the team looking to generate fundamental and forward-looking solutions to working in the heat. There are also opportunities to pursue a part-time PhD with HRPC.
The main areas of responsibilities of the role will include but limited to the following:
- Working with research PIs and teams to develop new research ideas
- Performing literature searches, assimilating, and summarizing key information, as well as identifying knowledge gaps
- Designing and conducting relevant studies and surveys (qualitative and quantitative, including lab and outfield studies)
- Leading in-lab (climatic chamber) and outfield data collection
- Establishing and managing large databases
- Interpreting and analysis of data

Qualifications
A minimum qualification of a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physiology, or equivalent. Experience in statistics, data analysis and visualisation software (e.g. SPSS, Power BI), and computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, data management and online meeting tools) would be required as well.
In addition, the role will require the following job relevant experience or attributes:

- Proficient in data analysis tools in quantitative research
- Two or more years of research work experience would be an advantage
- Proven knowledge of data collection methods
