1. Minimum ITE, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. Minimum two to four years relevant experience in customized Automation Machine Design.
3. Experience in customized semi-con/ connector/ machine design preferred.
4. Knowledge in Solidworks preferred, familiar with Pro-E and Inventor added advantage.
5. Intuitive in mechanical movement, function and performance. Good perception of 2D & 3D objects.
6. Understand machining processes well.
7. Intrinsic desire and passion to design high performance machines.

• Takes the lead in identifying quality improvements and establish objectives to implement them
• Develop mechanical design drawings by applying sound engineering principles, with innovation, to meet design objectives

Primary Duties:

Specific Functions & Tasks

• Develop and propose design concepts for the next generation of Remote Weapons Systems
• See through the development process from conceptual design, detailed design to engineering drawings
• Conduct analysis and simulation for the structural, shock and vibration, as well as thermal aspects of the design
• Participate in design reviews
• Works closely with other development teams (Electronics, Opto-mechanical) for sub-system, system level testing and integration
• Work with systems engineers to ensure that the design is able to meet the requirements.
• Undertake test and evaluation activities on mechanical designs to verify and sign-off on the designs that have met the requirements.
• Prepare and review all documentation required to support designs.

Required Qualifications & Experience

You will be a detail-oriented problem solver and can work collaboratively with others. You demonstrate sound pragmatism and judgement and deep technical knowledge, capable of being adaptive to adjust the engineering effort based on priority changes.

You will ideally have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Post graduate qualifications in Engineering highly desirable.

· Generates manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards Interfaces with customers for technical discussion

· Research and analyse customer design proposals, specifications and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.

· Specify system components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

· Understand the design requirements and create the conceptual design/mechanism for the heavy trucks.

· Generate detailed engineering drawings of the design and prepare the Bill of materials.

· Responsible for the preparation of the manufacturing drawings of the detailed design.

· Conduct Finite Element analysis and kinematics & Dynamics analysis to improve the design performance.

· Engage with the manufacturing team during design stage and manufacturing stage to ensure the smooth transition from design to manufacturing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Candidate must possess Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and related courses.

· Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Mechanical design or Machine design is required for this position.

· In depth knowledge in CAD/CAE applications such as SOLIDWORKS, CREO, Inventor and Unigraphics etc.

· Ability to work in the fast paced environment and work independently.

· Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and fundamentals including design principles, machine elements, and fabrication methods.
