We are seeking a visionary Chief of AI Engineering to lead the development of our smart manufacturing platform. This role involves setting up and managing the engineering team within a joint lab in collaboration with a reputable university, architecting AI solutions, and integrating them into our manufacturing platforms. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between advanced AI methodologies and practical manufacturing applications, driving innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Development:

o Establish and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team within the joint lab.

o Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.

• AI Strategy & Implementation:

o Design and deploy advanced AI solutions for factory automation, predictive maintenance, operational optimization, and intelligent decision support in semiconductor manufacturing.

o Lead the development of machine learning models that improve process efficiency, product quality, and asset reliability, leveraging time series analysis, computer vision, and statistical modeling.

o Architect and integrate domain-specific language models and generative AI systems that enable contextualized reasoning and interactive support for operators, engineers, and analysts.

o Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to link large language models with factory data sources (e.g., equipment logs, MES, SOPs, engineering documentation) through vector search and knowledge graphs.

o Enable natural language interfaces for factory systems, allowing users to perform analytics, retrieve insights, or generate root cause narratives through intuitive prompts.

o Ensure industrial-grade traceability, reliability, and governance in all AI outputs, including explainability, version control, and compliance with manufacturing safety standards.

• Platform Architecture:

o Contribute to architect a scalable and modular smart manufacturing platform, integrating AI capabilities seamlessly.

o Ensure the platform supports real-time data processing and decision-making.

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

o Work closely with academic researchers, AlphaX stakeholders, and industry partners to align AI initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in AI/ML, with a focus on manufacturing applications.

• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering complex AI projects.

• Deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and challenges.

• Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (e.g., Python, C++).

Our mission is to create innovative, robust, and user-friendly digital identity solutions. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Deep Learning AI Scientist specializing in Liveness Detection and Biometrics to join our dynamic team. Your work will directly impact the security and reliability of VIDA's identity verification systems.

1. Liveness Detection Development: Design, train, and deploy advanced deep learning models to ensure robust liveness detection, preventing spoofing attacks using photos, videos, masks, or other methods.
2. Design, train and deploy biometric models to correctly identify users.
3. Own the full lifecycle of deploying models: from data labelling, working with engineers to design scalable APIs, to monitoring and A/B testing new model versions.
4. Stay updated with the latest research in biometrics, computer vision, and deep learning, incorporating new techniques to improve VIDA’s products.
5. Collaborate with business, product, operations and engineering teams to deliver impact for our customers.
6. Work independently or in a team to solve complex problem statements.

1. An advanced degree in a quantitative field, and 3+ years of hands-on experience in deep learning model development for biometrics or liveness detection or a similar field.
2. Deep understanding of modern computer vision techniques, deep learning and machine learning.
3. Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
4. Experience with adversarial training to enhance model robustness.
5. Proficient in Python, C++, Scala, or Java.
6. Familiarity with modern deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet.
7. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure for model deployment.
8. Experience in on-device inference for machine learning models is a plus.
9. Take pride in taking ownership and driving projects to have business impact.
10. Thrive in a fast moving collaborative environment.

Simply put, these people are deprived of social benefits, such as education and health, their civil rights to vote and travel; and are excluded from the economy because they cannot sign up for bank accounts, loans, welfare programs etc. We believe this is unacceptable, and needs to change.

At VIDA , we are creating a frictionless digital identity system. One that fulfills the needs and expectations of our times, and is available anywhere, for everyone.
