The Manager will join a dynamic team that works across Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Asia Pacific, in support of Amazon's global consumer and digital businesses. Like our business interests, our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for our customers. The International Public Policy team works with a wide range of national, local, and supranational policymakers, industry organizations, and non-governmental organizations across policy issues spanning the consumer and commercial environment - including but not limited to digital technology, consumer affairs, connectivity, economic development, e-commerce exports, logistics, devices, and tax.
Key job responsibilities
This role will support advocacy and outreach to policymakers for Project Kuiper, Amazon's initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Manager will work closely with cross-functional Kuiper teams including Regulatory, Business, and Legal teams. They will manage senior policymaker engagement to support Kuiper's country entry and business needs across Southeast Asia, including defining strategy, executing advocacy campaigns, and representing the company with policymakers, consultants, and trade associations. The Manager will also be able to immediately and directly enhance Amazon's advocacy on a broad range of telecoms and space-related policy issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 10+ years dealing with the international legislative and regulatory policy process, preferably within the telecoms, connectivity, space, or technology industries.
- 10+ years of relevant public policy and advocacy experience, e.g. within corporate public policy and government relations, in public administration, trade associations or non-governmental organizations

The Public Policy and Global Affairs Programme is one of the four major programmes in the School of Social Sciences, together with Sociology, Psychology, and Economics. The successful candidate will have a PhD in political science, public administration, or in a related field, a strong track record of teaching commensurate with career stage and effective teaching and training of undergraduate and/or graduate students. The successful candidate is expected to teach modules in the following areas: healthcare and technology, e-government, ageing and healthcare, among others. They are also welcome to introduce new modules adjacent to these areas.

The AWS Public Policy team is at the forefront of helping customers in regulated industries (such as financial services (FS), telecoms, energy and other companies) maximize the benefits of cloud computing and AI by removing regulatory and policy blockers to cloud and AI adoption and shaping policy frameworks.
AWS is looking for a talented, experienced, and innovative individual to develop and drive regional regulatory policy advocacy strategy including representation of AWS before regional policymakers and regulators in the FS industry policy area. The role is focused around policies and regulations related to FS institutions' use of cloud and AI. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for favorable policies and regulations to promote AWS' business interests in the FS industry, and developing strategies to convince regulators of the (cyber)security, resilience and innovation potential of the cloud and AI.
This Singapore-based position (Sydney (Australia), Tokyo (Japan), Delhi (India) and Seoul (South Korea) can also be considered) reports to the AWS Head of Public Policy for Regulated Industries and Regulatory Strategy, APJ, and includes the following responsibilities:
- In coordination with in-country Public Policy teams, develop and execute APJ policy advocacy strategies that mitigate regulatory policy risks to the business and advance business opportunities;
- Develop external messaging, talking points, and narratives on AWS' regulatory policy priorities; support the drafting and submission of AWS' policy position papers and represent the views of AWS before governments, regulatory, and legislative bodies;

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading provider of cloud computing services, providing IT infrastructure offerings such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, AI capabilities and more.
The AWS Public Policy team is at the forefront of helping customers in regulated industries (such as financial services (FS), telecoms, energy and other companies) maximize the benefits of cloud computing and AI by removing regulatory and policy blockers to cloud and AI adoption and shaping policy frameworks.
AWS is looking for a talented, experienced, and innovative individual to develop and drive regional regulatory policy advocacy strategy including representation of AWS before regional policymakers and regulators in the FS industry policy area. The role is focused around policies and regulations related to FS institutions' use of cloud and AI. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for favorable policies and regulations to promote AWS' business interests in the FS industry, and developing strategies to convince regulators of the (cyber)security, resilience and innovation potential of the cloud and AI.
This Singapore-based position (Sydney (Australia), Tokyo (Japan), Delhi (India) and Seoul (South Korea) can also be considered) reports to the AWS Head of Public Policy for Regulated Industries and Regulatory Strategy, APJ, and includes the following responsibilities:
- In coordination with in-country Public Policy teams, develop and execute APJ policy advocacy strategies that mitigate regulatory policy risks to the business and advance business opportunities;
- Develop external messaging, talking points, and narratives on AWS' regulatory policy priorities; support the drafting and submission of AWS' policy position papers and represent the views of AWS before governments, regulatory, and legislative bodies;
- Work with in-country Public Policy teams to proactively build and advance relationships with key FS policymakers, regulators and decision makers;
- Build up relationships with respective regional FS industry associations, inter-governmental agencies, academia, other industry thought leaders and third party, and drive direct and indirect engagements to promote cloud friendly policies;
- Drive long term strategic thinking and thought leadership in the FS, cloud, (cyber)security and AI policy spaces, including organizing regional and global policy campaigns and events;
- Facilitate high-level meetings between AWS executives and key stakeholders, including senior government officials, regulators, industry associations and partners to promote and advocate the company's policy priorities.
The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about cloud, (cyber)security and AI technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations. They should have public policy advocacy experience in FS industry and must be able to point to successful advocacy outcomes they delivered in the past.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- At least 8+ years representing a large FS company or association in the FS industry, a policymaker or regulator, with significant experience running public policy and/or regulatory advocacy efforts;
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Law, Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, etc.);
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Detailed knowledge of FS industry policy frameworks and their impact on cloud and AI adoption – in APJ and globally;
- Highly effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at highest corporate, political and regulatory levels;
- Ability to maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity, with a strong professional reputation in the industry;
- A self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with various functional groups across an organization and different cultures, in addition to the ability to work independently;
- Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to debate and negotiate with others, including strong judgment/decision-making skills while retaining flexibility as required;

Role Highlights :
The candidate will be part of the Group Credit Policy & Governance (CPG) team which provides independent oversight of Personal Financial Services (PFS) Loans Portfolio for UOB Group. Reporting to the Regional Policy & Strategic Support Lead, the candidate will be responsible to support the review and maintenance of the Group Retail Credit Policy and Process Standards (GRCPPS), ensure regional countries are operating within the Group PFS Policy, Frameworks and approved Retail Risk Appetite (RRA) metrics, provide independent review and recommendation on proposed credit policies changes and related credit papers requiring approval from Group Retail Credit and perform independent monitoring of portfolio quality for PFS loans portfolio across countries. The candidate will also undertake strategic projects as part of overall Group Retail Credit and Group CPG collective agenda.
Role Description :
- To review Group Policy Standard, Frameworks/ Guidelines and maintain them over time to ensure that PFS Loans portfolios operate within the desired appetite.
- To support the smooth migration of Citi portfolio into UOB under CPG sub-stream, liaise and work with other sub-streams within overall Retail Credit workstream and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful integration process.
- To work closely with countries CPG function on review of Portfolio Review Document (PRD), credit policy changes, credit test proposal, and other initiatives that require approval from Group Retail Credit.
- To assume the advisory role to and consult regional countries on Group Policy & Framework related matters.

Skills Set Requirements:
