It provides opportunities to independently demonstrate problem-solving skills through improvement projects and daily operations.

Reporting to the Manager, APAC Logistics Execution, you will:

  • Process freight payments and resolve any payment disputes with vendors timely.
  • Ensure completeness of accrual of freight cost at the end month.
  • Develop and manage relationships with vendors, e.g. shipping lines, 3PLs, and internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate and handle claims relating to transportation and shipping.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, identify any process gaps, and propose improvement initiatives to reduce costs and/or improve service levels.
  • Participate in performance-related meetings and provide constructive feedback where relevant.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, International Trade, Maritime/Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience in container liner shipping, supply chain, logistics, or freight forwarding.
  • A team player, autonomous, and self-driven.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Determined problem solver with high-level attention to detail, strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid time management skills and ability to prioritise workload in a changing environment and within tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Exposure to SAP systems will also be beneficial.

What we offer

  • A work environment where safety is always the number one priority
  • A full-time position working directly for Rio Tinto
  • A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience, with an annual incentive program
  • Comprehensive medical benefits, including health insurance for employees and immediate family
  • Attractive share ownership plan
  • Company provided insurance cover
  • Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions
  • Leave for all of life's reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave)

Where you will be working

Headquartered in Singapore and integrated with Rio Tinto's assets, hubs, and offices globally, our Commercial group works hand-in-hand with our product groups to ensure both the amount and types of products we produce meet our customers' needs, and manage the trade-off between volumes, quality, cost, and capital expenditure.

Application Deadline: 15 August 2025 (Rio Tinto reserves the right to remove job postings prior to the stated closing date)
