Job Description
The Senior Costing Manager will **build and lead** the development costing function for footwear. This leader will be responsible for development costing operations that support 100's of millions of dollars' worth of product cost across **several VF brands and products.** This leader will support **transformation** from several decentralized costing approaches to cohesive and consistent data-driven, automated and efficient processes. This leader will bring a strong product and manufacturing background and will be a key partner to the sourcing and development teams on design costs to achieve product cost savings for the organization. The individual will bring a strong lean, digital and analytical mindset to the organization and fully leverage "One VF" scale through use of harmonized and scalable fact-based costing methodologies. The costing leader will play an important role in the Product Supply Organization with an extensive focus on **process optimization** . This leader will have primary responsibility for **training, coaching and mentoring** the development costing associates. The individual will partner closely with other functions in the Costing Organization, product supply teams, Product Vendors to ensure process and best practice adherence.
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE** **:**
Include but not limited to
+ **Profitability:** Identify opportunities to design to higher profitability utilizing insights provided by the Costing Intelligence team and the Operational Costing team within GPC
+ **Governance:** Ensure seamless and automated communication of costing information between Product Vendors and other functions in the Costing Organization for timely and agile cost management.
+ **Connectivity** : Support connectivity and information sharing among Product Vendors, Sourcing, Global Material Supply, Finance, Engineering and Suppliers that enables a valuable One-VF Global Costing Strategy.
+ **Team** : Build, develop and motivate the Development Costing team through strong leadership and ensure the best standards of performance. Identify and develop talent to ensure appropriate skill sets and strong succession plans are in place.
+ **Training** : Create and facilitate training program to support onboarding and development of Development Costing associates.
+ **Process Improvements:** Achieve improvements in productivity and efficiency through **eliminating** redundancies, **automating** repetitive tasks and **optimizing** processes for maximum value.
+ **Standardization:** Ensure processes adherence across all brands and regions to leverage one-VF scale and operating procedures across the enterprise.
+ **Project Leadership:** Lead cross-functional initiatives and conduct specific analyses as needed producing deliverables in a diverse, fast paced environment through extensive collaboration across teams

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Sourcing Developer with a deep understanding of vendor management and product development in the apparel industry. In this role, you will be responsible for strategically allocating styles to vendors, managing the end-to-end product development process, and leading initiatives aimed at process improvement and meeting various business requirements. The ideal candidate will possess vast knowledge of vendor capabilities and product intricacies, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive successful outcomes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: (but not limited to)
- Product Development Process: Demonstrate expertise in the end-to-end product development process, including calendar building, vendor management, and product replenishment, while maintaining a thorough understanding of vendor capabilities
- Calendar Management: Ensure strict adherence to the brand development calendar, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues, and collaborating with your manager to find solutions
- Vendor Collaboration: Partner with vendors to ensure consistent product excellence, as well as timely and seamless sample execution, issue resolution
- Strategic Execution: Work closely with your manager to understand brand product development strategies, executing operational and project activities independently, and coordinating with internal cross-functional teams and vendors
- Work Plan Implementation: Effectively implement work plans, regularly monitoring progress, and working with your manager to prioritize actions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Data Analysis: Analyse internal and vendor performance data to provide actionable insights, supporting continuous improvement, optimizing vendor capabilities, and driving overall process excellence
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Planning, Global Materials Supply, Logistics, Technical Design, Quality teams to achieve brand goals and objectives
- Communication: Confidently express your views with supporting data, proactively communicate with stakeholders when development concerns arise, and provide solutions to maintain set calendar dates
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in company-wide initiatives to promote VF and improve supply chain systems and processes within the VF Asia Product Supply framework
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in the product development of knitted and woven apparel, vendor management, and sourcing activities within the apparel industry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
- Strong learning agility, open to understand change and adapt, as well as maintain effectiveness in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Passionate about product and possess a curious and open mindset to learn
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
- Academic Degree: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Working Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing, with prior experience in the apparel industry preferred
- Language Proficiency: Strong communication skills in English
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Familiarity with Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, Airtable (plus) is a plus.
- Platforms: Familiarity with digital platforms for product development is highly advantageous
