**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer with SCEM (Singapore Certified Energy Manager) certification to join our facilities management team in a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing critical facilities systems, driving energy efficiency initiatives, and ensuring reliable, safe, and compliant operations across our plant infrastructure.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead day-to-day operations and maintenance of facilities systems including HVAC, fire systems, and cleanroom environments
+ Oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, company SOPs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
+ Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in line with the SCEM framework, including energy audits, reporting, and project execution.
+ Provide technical support for facility upgrades and capacity planning to support manufacturing expansion and yield improvements.
+ Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for facilities-related incidents and system anomalies.
+ Ensure compliance with local regulations, including NEA, BCA, PUB, and relevant ISO standards.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing team, different business groups, and EHS to support smooth operations.
+ Participate in emergency response and facilities crisis management activities as needed.
**Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering or a related field.
+ SCEM (Singapore Certified Energy Manager) certification is mandatory.
+ 3-5 years of relevant experience in facilities management within a semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environment.
+ Strong knowledge of building management systems (BMS), cleanroom protocols, and critical utilities infrastructure.
+ Familiarity with EHS regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001and energy management practices.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
+ Able to work on-call rotation and respond to off-hour emergencies if required.

Purpose of Job

The role holder would be responsible for Utilities operations activities, ensuring accurate documentation

completion for CGMP systems including boilers, compressors, WWTP, pumps, compressed air and

operations of the wider plants in GSK.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing all assigned Utilities operations activities, ensuring accurate documentation completion for CGMP systems including boilers, regeneration processes, wastewater treatment blowers, pumps, compressed air system, HVAC, air & Nitrogen systems.
  • Support Facility Operations, take equipment readings & update logbooks and oversee a team of 24/7 technicians for operations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment to determine the root cause and perform root cause analysis.
  • To negotiate with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or subcontractors on the repair, replacement and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Carry out repair of equipment such as replacing faulty parts (eg. Bearing, mechanical seal and etc), shaft alignment, clear blockages, rectify leaks and cleaning equipment parts and etc.
  • Re-assemble, re-install, test run and monitor equipment after repair before putting the equipment online.
  • Ensure permit requirements are met for all Utilities operations activity conduct routine condition monitoring of machine (eg. Vibration, noise, corrosion, temperature, pressure data recording and trending), as required.
  • Ability to ensure all related contractors are properly on-boarded through the vendor management system.
  • Ability to communicate and Escalate incidents in case of emergency situations.
  • Coordinate with contractors for the facility repair / trouble shoot jobs, Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance of facility equipment such as boilers, regeneration processes, blowers, compressors, pumps.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance (and provide feedback) as scheduled by the MP (Maintenance Planner) Scheduler to ensure a high quality and continuous improving maintenance.
  • Maintain cordial work relationship with client, colleagues and contractors.
  • Uphold high standards of integrity and transparency and ensuring GMP related compliances are not comprised.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are met and completed.
  • Participate in Tier 1 / 2 and 3 if necessary.
    Any other tasks as and when assigned by his Supervisor/Manager.
