Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess patients in a logical and sequential manner, generating and testing a hypothesis to come up with an accurate physiotherapy diagnosis.
  2. Plan treatment, addressing the problems and reflecting current available scientific evidence.
  3. Treat and evaluate patients safely and efficaciously.
  4. Ensure completion of patient documentation, records, and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided.
  5. Ensure effective communication within the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.
  6. Ensure compliance with Rehab Services’ competency and practice standards.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma in Health Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent, preferably with a Masters Degree in Sports Physiotherapy.
  2. Attain and meet all requirements to maintain registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  3. At least 3 years' experience in Sports/Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy or similar with supervisory experience, or at least 5 years of post-diploma working experience.
  4. Must be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccinations.

Working location: Novena. This position is on a 5.5 day work week (Normal Office hours). Only short-listed candidates will be notified.

As a Speech & Language Therapist , you will work with students with autism on a range of skills including social communication, language, and literacy.

Your Impact and Contribution includes:

Assessment & Report Writing

  1. Conduct and report on assessment findings in the areas of language, literacy, and communication in learners with autism within a school context for direct intervention planning and exam access.
  2. Conduct school team-based assessment for curriculum and lesson planning.

Intervention

  1. Plan and conduct 1:1 and small group direct intervention on language, communication, and literacy goals.
  2. Make necessary referrals to external and alternative services where necessary.
  3. Participate in a collaborative consultation model with key stakeholders.

Programme Development

  1. Participate in curriculum/program development projects.
  2. For the position of Senior SLT - develop program-wide or school-wide intervention programmes on areas related to communication and language.

Coaching/Training

  1. Provide training, consultation, and instructions to educators on evidence-informed approaches, tools, and strategies to support students in language (including literacy) and functional communication (e.g., appropriate use of AAC support strategies to enhance spontaneous communication and social interaction).
  2. Deliver training to parents and teachers on issues related to language and social communication and interaction.

For Senior SLTs - Management and Leadership

  1. Provide supervision and mentorship to junior SLTs.
  2. Provide routine reporting on agreed Key Goals for Speech and Language Therapy service provision.
  3. Influence the development of programme and policies to promote best practice in communication, language, and literacy development.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Full registration with the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC).
  2. Desire to learn about autism and the passion to serve the autism community.
  3. Flexibility and adaptability to changes and different perspectives.
  4. Able to work independently and collaborate as a team member in a dynamic work environment.
