Overview & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Supplier Quality Specialist executes the Ebara Elliott Energy supplier quality control program. The position works closely with procurement and quality departments to ensure that all suppliers have adequate business management systems for the purpose of providing products that meet Ebara Elliott Energy requirements. This is accomplished through the qualification and re-qualification of suppliers based on the results of system audits and the evaluation of their performance as it relates to the on-time delivery, number of defects, and cost. The position also focuses on the prevention of supplier defects through the conveyance of contractual requirements. This is done through the management of pre-manufacturing and in-process meetings conducted at the supplier along with the development of supporting documentation, drawings, quality inspection & test plans, etc. In addition, this position will support source inspection needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Using Ebara Elliott Energy supplier qualification procedures, identify and qualify new suppliers to improve cost, quality, and lead time.
- Monitor and uphold quality standards of existing approved supplier base. Identify and mitigate quality issues as identified by inspection, NCR, and warranty data inputs.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to develop the quality and capability of approved suppliers.
- Resolve supplier questions as they relate to Ebara Elliott Energy drawings and/or processes.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for supplier non-conformances.
- Monitor and audit supplier quality performance; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Assemble and utilize inspection, NCR, and warranty data inputs to drive supplier quality priorities and corrective action plans.
- Conduct investigations of major supplier problems including customer complaints.
- Prepare technical reports regarding supplier quality procedures, processes, and problems.
- Develop a regional supplier scorecard system to track quality, on-time delivery, responsiveness, and issue resolution.
- Maintain records in the Ebara Elliott Energy approved supplier database.
- Aide in the development and release of component inspection plans.
- Set and maintain receiving inspection requirements / routing in the ERP system for all products received into the warehouse.
- Support on site source inspection needs as required.
- Conduct regular supplier review meetings.
- Support new product launches with supplier readiness assessments.
Qualifications:
- Two year associates degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, related field technical field.
- 5+ years of technical work experience in supplier quality / qualification roles within manufacturing or fabrication industries.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings, prints, and bills of material.
- Strong analytical, computer/software, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated manufacturing process knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supplier quality systems.
- Experience working with Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001or industry-specific quality standards.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and supply chain analytics tools.
- A background in lean and/or six sigma principles is preferred.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to conduct supplier audits, process reviews, and compliance checks.
- Understanding of various inspection & testing methods.
- Ability to exercise nonconformance management including corrective / preventative actions, root cause analysis, 5 Why's, etc.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing quality documentation and reports.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
SQP oversees critical and non critical supplier mainly mechanical parts in. SQP is responsible in leading before and after FAS (First Article Submission) qualify and monitor quality performance of new / existing suppliers and ensure uninterrupted supplies of materials and services. Conduct in process audit and drive for closure of audit findings and continuous improvement and reduction of COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality). Lead the discussion with the suppliers and ensure timely response is executed to deliver result to our internal customers. Guide Procurement and team for supplier performance review process.
- Supplier Development.
SQP shall drive for vendor development, identify and develop new special process to meet turnkey objective and reduce leadtime of supplier.
- Analyse supply market.
SQP shall propose and execute creative ways to improve supplier process which creates financial value to the organization.
- Maintain good relationship with stake holders and customer/s
SQP maintain good relationship with stakeholders such as Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering and Quality. Work with cross functional teams in resolution of process and quality issues related to design, application and manufacturing process. Develop quality consciousness and impart application of quality tools such as FMEA, 8D.
- Develop Product Quality Control Plan
SQP shall also be in charge in developing Quality Control Plan according to the requirements of the customer. He/She shall ensure that required processes and documentations and surveillance points are identified in the QCP. He/She shall liase closely with the customer during development of the new QCP and revision of the existing QCP and its approval (internal and Customer).
- Customer /Third Party Inspection coordinator
SQP shall manage Customer and Third Party inspection of products/parts. He/She shall ensure that each Quality Control Plan activity which requires surveillance points are monitored and conducted accordingly. He/She will liase and communicate closely with the internal and external customers to ensure that TPI inspections are executed according to the plan schedule.

The Principal Supplier Quality Engineer ensures the quality and reliability of supplied components through strategic supplier collaboration and risk-based oversight. This role drives supplier performance improvement, resolves complex quality issues, and ensures compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards. Semiconductor Supplier Quality Manager (m/f/d)
We offer an interesting position as Manager Semiconductor Supplier Quality as a member of the global BMW Semiconductor Management Team. Since Semiconductors play an ever more important role in the manufacturing of our cars, the quality of our cars hinges on the quality of semiconductors.
You will work with semiconductor suppliers in all Asia to make sure that BMW can utilize robust semiconductor solutions. The adherence of the entire semiconductor supply chain (Wafer Manufacturing, Assembly and Test) to respective standards (ISO, IATF-16949, VDA, BMW Group Standards) plays a central role in this context. Assessment of suppliers with respect to those requirements as well as the closing of potential gaps will define your daily work. Furthermore, you will be responsible for problem solving activities in case of shortcomings of semiconductor solutions. You will support the global BMW Semiconductor Management organization with local presence and a strong relationship to semiconductor suppliers in China and the Asia Pacific region.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the supply assurance of active and passive components during allocations
- Responsible for the internal communication and the support regarding SC suppliersrelevant topics
- Responsible for ensuring the supply chain transparency and necessary technical exchange with SC suppliers
Supply Risk Management
- CoC of SC suppliers & main contact person for internal & external partners
- Manages top & executive management meetings
- Manages COS/SRM meetings with top SC suppliers with support from SC Strategy & Data Management teams
- Control gate for consistent data/presentations integrity for A-B program before handing it out to the SC suppliers
- Assesses & evaluates the SC supplier & product portfolios, as well as special approvals
- Evaluates SC roadmaps & request price indication for all OCs from SC suppliers
- Ensures the availability of SC NDAs
- Defines and reviews requirements and supply chain Group Standards
- Negotiates framework contracts with SC suppliers.
Supply Crisis Management
- Actively manages effective measures along the entire supply chain to avoid line-down caused by SC
- Assesses & confirms if spot market scanning and procurement is required
- Tracks, communicates & reports the SC supply crisis issues to PLT/TF and PMO
Manages the escalation towards SC suppliers
Requirements
- Engineering Degree (Electrical.Engineering, Physics, Chemical and any relevant studies)
- Profound work experience in quality management and/or semiconductor manufacturing
- Project management and leadership experience
- Profound knowledge in the areas of semiconductor technology, electronics processes and manufacturing processes
- Experience regarding the use of quality management systems
- Proficient in both English and Chinese language
- Proactive, ability to think analytically and able to work independently
- Willing to travel for work
